Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

These days they still make our kids go out unless there's a cold weather advisory. Which down here in the balmy area of Southern Ontario is around -30 (with or without wind chill).

I think that's what it is here, too.
Might... might! be -35. But close enough.

Excursion: Whale Watching

Noted.

Yeah... So remember how I was bragging about my beautiful 70 degree weather on Monday and Tuesday? ......

Little Miss is outside right now... PLAYING IN THE SNOW!?!?!?! Its also only 34 degrees:yo-yo:

You really didn't have to send your weather my way you know.... :rotfl2:
WHAT???? You have snow?!?!?!!

No fair!

We've only had enough to go sledding once!

Yes, I'm like a 10 year old little boy who gets excited about snow. Because I get to go sledding and play with my tractor and loader moving snow piles.

And this mild winter is ticking me off!

So sorry to have been AWOL lately.

Well... I'll let it go this time.

A month or so ago I came to the realization that I have approximately eleventy-twelve gazillion things to do if I'm going to be ready to move from upstate NY to Clearwater, FL on or about the 27th of April,

That's a lot of stuff to do!
And April 27th isn't that far off, either.

so I cut way way back on my online activities in an effort to actually meet that deadline.

I get it.
I really get it.

I've written many many lists but I'm not doing nearly as well at crossing stuff off them as I did writing them in the first place!

I have a to-do list on my iPod that I got so sick of looking at that I deleted it.
Stuff didn't get done, but I feel better about it now.

I know I'll get it all done eventually, but right now I feel like I'm moving way too slow. :snail:

Well, giddyup there girlie.

Anyway, I happened to remember that your trip had come and gone and I wanted to check in and see how it went.

What do you mean "happened to remember"
Is that a typo?
Did you not mean:
"I was growing frantic wondering how your trip had gone. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't eat."

So sorry to hear you were sick--fingers crossed it doesn't spoil the trip. (Oh, wait, the fingers crossed thing doesn't work retroactively, does it? Dang.)

 All will be revealed in due course.

I'll continue to check in when I can, but I know I won't have time to comment in a timely manner, or enter the contest.

Are you sure? I move on this TR about the same speed you do with your lists.

I'll be here in spirit, though!

Ghostly.

Which is kinda creepy, when you think about it.

Yep!

I mean, imagine you're wandering around in the trip report in the wee hours, most of the lights will be out and it'll be eerily quiet compared to the normal din of comments flying back and forth, and suddenly a shadowy figure appears behind you... But don't worry, I'm a friendly spirit, even if I don't have time to hang around and chat! :wave2:

A chatless spirit. Story of my life.

Yo Ponds! Hey! Long time no see!

Rebecca!! Long time no see! I though I'd lost you for good!
First off, an official :welcome: to the TR! :goodvibes

How's Moose?

Sorry... I've been a little MIA since I had the baby. Oh... you want to see a pic of the baby?

Yes!!!!

OMG. Too cute! And that little bow tie?!?!?

Crap. Man card. Never getting that sucker back.

Of course, that was when he was 3 months old... he's now 18 months old....

:faint: Wow. How did that happen???

Since I've been gone, I know I've missed quiet a bit... like: :bday:
So, please forgive me!

 You're forgiven! Of course!
I'm just glad to see you back!

This picture is from last week.... he had a mouth full of scrambled eggs when I took the picture.

Awww... And I see motherhood suits you quite well. Still beautiful.
Nope. That's a lie.
More beautiful.

So I thought I'd drop in and say hi.

Oh... and for those of you interested... Ponds, IDK if your daughters would be interested or not... I'm currently having a "Facebook party" because Jamberry is introducing Disney inspired nail wraps. My "party" goes until Sunday, if you'd like to get free samples, or have no idea what Jamberry's are- they are nail wraps, so instead of paying ridiculous amounts for lovely nails, these are basically stickers that you wear on your nails. I LOVE the Disney ones. Here's a link so you can show your girls: http://bit.ly/1QOk7be

I copied the info and sent them each an email.
What they do with it is up to them!

Hopefully I'll be around more now that he's a bit older. Talk to you soon! :)

I hope you'll be around more, too!

Also, I'm going to join in the guessing game.
1. delayed
2. really bad turbulence
3. better view?
4. ferret!

Gotta get to work. Rest of the shout-outs and
(hopefully) catching up on your TRs/PTRs later.

WHAT???? You have snow?!?!?!!

No fair!

We've only had enough to go sledding once!
Yeah well unsurprisingly (Because its been warm and 70 degrees outside for the past week until yesterday) a good portion of it melts as soon as it hits the ground. So its accumulating as more of a yucky slush than any actual snow. Little Miss is devastated I won't let her wallow in it to make snow angels. :rotfl2: Looks like we got just enough to shut down the city. (Yes you northerners. A flake of snow and the whole state goes on alert and shuts down. Mainly due to stupid drivers who don't know what to do with snow.::yes::)

Yes, I'm like a 10 year old little boy who gets excited about snow. Because I get to go sledding and play with my tractor and loader moving snow piles.

And this mild winter is ticking me off!
:rotfl: We so rarely get it I'm generally the same way.

PKONDZI.

:rockband:

Sing it, baby! Sing it!

Welcome back!!

Thanks, Katie! :)

Whoomp, there it is.

Thanks to you, I've just lost about an hour of productivity.
Can not stop watching.

No. Really.
Thanks. To you. With all my heart.

HALF the year?!??! Grow a pair, pkondzi!!! A pair.. of gloves. Yes, grow a pair of gloves. (Dammit, I'm not going to be good at this "bonus points for snide comments" thing. That was my best attempt.)

If only you'd stopped juuuuust before "A pair.. of gloves"
then it would've been awesome.

I feel this pain... A few years ago I went to NYC and got $2 to the £, it was GREAT. Last year it was at about $1.50, and now it's down to like $1.35 :sad2:

8ba9fd119cdf41e493e5e66bdd976588.gif

I really don't understand why Disney just doesn't say:
"Well, you've flown all this way... Free tickets for you! And, oh... 75% off the hotel too!"
Just for us foreigners, you unnerstand.

Boy, you sure know how to retain an audience..

I'm completely shocked that anyone is still here.

What a gentleman :goodvibes

Aw, shucks. Anyone would've done the same.

God help me if I ever have boys!!!!!! :scared:

Here's a secret.
Boys. Awful at the start.
Girls. Easy at the start... but then... "hormones".
<shudder>

Also, from your previous report, I believe we have a common distain for parents who ignore their children when they're misbehaving :furious:

::yes::

Grow a pair pkondz!!! ...a pair.. of orange trees... Grow a pair of orange trees in the garden, some vitamin C will make you feel much better. (Dammit.)

That would work if... we could grow oranges in Canada.
So... ppbbbttttt!

I actually knew this about Ruby, I feel like I'm part of the family. HEY, why wasn't I invited to Maui? :sad1:

You didn't get your invite????
Ohhhhh.... Stupid me.
I sent you a very nice invitation in the mail...
but forgot to put an "airmail" sticker on it.
You'll get it next Tuesday... or September.

Next time I'll just send you a PM.

Cool text lingo dude :thumbsup2

I am so hip with the young generation!

I just ruined it by saying "hip" didn't I.

Crap.

::yes::

Well that's quite the image.

As long as they get barfed out again at destination, I'm happy.

Ya like that do ya?

Small enough to mail across the Atlantic?! :thumbsup2

Absolutely.

Oh man. I feel like I'm good at that.

You are! So this contest is gonna be tougher for you.

I doubt I'll benefit from this anyway.

You'll see.

1. On time!
2. Someone kicking your seat! :furious:

3. Free upgrade?!

4. Oh wow, I've no idea what animals are allowed on planes... Can I guess birds, or is that too vague?

Hmmm.. Well I'd be inclined to guess some kind of scuba activity because I know that you can do that, but I'm not sure if Ruby or the girls can... So I'll go with a more generic Hawaiian activity... Whale watching?!

Wow! 34 degrees?? Beautiful!
I can't wait to be that hot again!

You really didn't have to send your weather my way you know.... :rotfl2:

I didn't want to keep it all to myself.
Spread the joy!

<phew!>

WHAT???? You have snow?!?!?!!

No fair!

We've only had enough to go sledding once!

You can have some of ours.
Really. Take all you want.

Please.

Yes, I'm like a 10 year old little boy who gets excited about snow. Because I get to go sledding and play with my tractor and loader moving snow piles.

And this mild winter is ticking me off!

Seriously dude, you're beginning to annoy me even more than usual.
I don't have a tractor.
Or even a snow blower.
I have a shovel.

And I hate it.

Wow! 34 degrees?? Beautiful!
I can't wait to be that hot again!
:cold::cold::cold::cold:

I didn't want to keep it all to myself.
Spread the joy!
:cold: Take it back! Take it back!

You can have some of ours.
Really. Take all you want.

Please.
:rotfl2:

If you think I'm exaggerating just look up The Daily SHow from 1/30/14. I believe the episode in question is titled: South Parked. Our snow storm made national news!::yes:::thumbsup2

Now you're both starting to annoy me!
:rotfl: Snow is magical for a few hours. Then the novelty of it wears off. :rotfl:

:cold: Take it back! Take it back!

Muahahahaha!!!

If you think I'm exaggerating just look up The Daily SHow from 1/30/14. I believe the episode in question is titled: South Parked. Our snow storm made national news!::yes:::thumbsup2

I can't. I'm at work. But not to worry.
Toronto (a freaking Canadian city) did the same thing.
Except the entire rest of the country mocked them. Still do.

:rotfl: Snow is magical for a few hours. Then the novelty of it wears off. :rotfl:

Yep. Until you start pulling your hair out after a months and months of it.

I can't believe I missed the beginning of this! I wandered over to the TR section tonight since I'm avoiding packing for my trip next week and I found a new Pkondz TR!

Sorry you started the trip off sick! What a bummer.

Jill in CO

Jill!!!
I thought I'd lost you for good! :welcome: to the TR!
So pleased you're here.
And I'm totally serious.
I've seen you posting here and there and was hoping you'd pop in. :goodvibes

Sorry you started the trip off sick! What a bummer.

Ah, well. What would a pkondz trip be without some drama?

I hate the new boards...I never get emails when there are updates!

Where's home again, Liesa?

I grew up in Hemet, CA. At the time it was like paradise; now it has been transformed into a sewer.

I went to college at University of Irvine for a couple of terms, and loved studying on the beach. But more than that I was a CM at DLR for about a year during that time and adored my job. I was a hostess in the Blue Bayou restaurant. :) I still have my name badge- a special trinket from long ago.

:rotfl: Snow is magical for a few hours. Then the novelty of it wears off. :rotfl:
:rotfl2: I seriously will gladly take snow all winter. I just don't like ice, that stuff's evil. I'll take the snow, but I could do without freezing rain and the bitter cold temps. A nice coating of snow on the ground and a sunny day in the mid to upper 20's without any wind is about perfect.

You know for winter. I wouldn't want it all year. I do like not having to wear a coat every time I step outside in the spring, summer and fall.

But then again, I've got 4 wheel drives, equipment capable of clearing snow and a huge hill on the edge of my property. So we know how to do snow right.

You have no idea how hard it is to drive a rental car with cuffs on.
You’re making an assumption here…

But then again, all those records were sealed as part of the identity change.
So who’s to judge the actual validity if your assertion.

well, I'll just post a picture and move on...
Hummm…
I don’t see the problem, there.
Sounds like a thoughtful well-reasoned assessment of the situation.

Oh, well. It's all Greek to me.
rimshot.gif

Oh, wait!
Sould have replied in Greek, shouldn’t I?
Here…

(more animated in the performance)

Ha, ha! That's your problem!

Wait.

You'd leave us alone, right?
Are you aware of our national historical track record in terms of dealing with the rightful inhabitants of lands deem as “desirable”.

Nice to know you think I appear dumb.

That's actually a step up for me.
It’s good to have goals in life.

Thank God you got that!
If I’d have missed it, you’d have had every right to banish me form the TR.

I know all. I sees all.
Good.
So, why’s the rum always gone?

Funny thing.
When I was little, I hated the Roadrunner part of the show.
My Dad, on the rare occasion that he would watch,
would laugh uproariously at it.

Now, as an adult, on the rare occasion that I watch,
I laugh uproariously at it.
The true strength of Loony-Tunes…
They were always written firstly for adults.

The kids just got to laugh at the slapstick.

Nothing beats a good insult.
But my ego demands veneration,
so... it's a conundrum.
You’re the benevolent dictator here…
Dictate.

(There’s plenty of president for tyrants to ignore their own rules once they become “inconvenient”).

Interesting. I loved it as a kid and as an adult. I guess there's something about falling anvils that just gets me.
