We spent a week at Disney World in March.

Today is opening day at Canada's Wonderland, and we are going to go.

How much of a let down is Wonderland after being immersed in the Cadillac of theme parks !!

Anyone else going to CW today?

I have always loved CW, especially because of all the awesome coasters. But I must admit we had a seasons pass last year and felt that CW had lost a lot of its magic since Paramount sold it.

Once you experience Disney a regular theme park just doesn't cut it.
We had season passes to Wonderland in '06. The the lack of cleanliness, the bored staff, mobs teenagers and everything needing a coat of paint suddenly stood out.

If you like the rides, Wonderland is a fix close to home.

A trip to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio is a great experience.

We have had Season Passes on and off over the last 20 years...

The kids like Hannah Barbera land, but as you mentioned, the upkeep and the staff just don't cut it.

My daughter's favorite ride is Scooby's Haunted House, I am curious to see how she feels about that now after riding Toy Story Mania (and even Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin).

Hopefully this year I can get them out of HB land, and into the bigger rides.

My son (5 years) is excited to try White Water Canyon, I told him it is just like Kali River Rapids but no drop. We are going to take small steps, maybe the big carousel, some of the tamer spining rides, and if we are feeling bold we will try Thunder Run (he did Thunder Mountain but was holding on for dear life).

My son is almost 2....haven't been to CW in a few years, and certainly have never been with a child before. Are there enough rides to keep him entertained/worth the money for me to take him this summer.
He does have a great time on all the rides at WDW...I think he has my adventerous personality (thank god....)

For sure there is enough for 1 day.... But only you know what's best for your son. When my kids were 2, they loved the train rides, old fashion cars, swans, and helicopters. But comparing it to Disney is very unrealistic. My kids loved the Character meetings, and Wonderland just doesn't have that same appeal. Even the shows are not nearly as good. But there is definitley enough for a day, the water park has also expanded quite a bit, so a mid afternoon break in the kids area is a welcomed excurssion.

Anyways, I am leaving now... darn, missed "rope drop" hahaha...

Don't forget that summer=Busy and long line ups, even in Hanna Barbera land. Too bad they cannot come up with some type of Fastpass system :goodvibes

But as previous poster said, the staff are poorly trained and cannot help you with directions, food info etc. That was my biggest problem. Plus there are alot of young teens/adults there and really look at it as just a job, nothing like CM in Disney

I went to CW today. This is our first year getting seasons passes. We went to disney last year and really there is no comparison. We did have a good time today though. There is definitely a lack of "magic" there. the rides are exciting and stuff but so short compared to disney. Everything at disnay is fun even the lineups at WDW keep you entertained, at CW you just stand there for what seems like forever.
Oh well CW will hold us over this summer until we can return to WDW next summer.

OMG! We had season's passes last year and had to force ourselves to go!
Yes, since Paramount sold it, the magic is gone. Not that it held a candle to Disney before, but it was a great second choice. We did not buy passes this year. What's the point? You stand in line for over an hour to get on a 2 minute ride. Maybe we are spoiled by those Fastpasses!

Thanks for the great info. We are going to disney this year for the 3rd year in a row. I wanted to take my kids to CW but when I looked at the cost around $100 I wondered if it was worth it. Now I am thinking not.

Well, we bought our cw passes for this year as well but I use the waterpark more than anything. My kids love all the slides and the wave pool and if you go early enough it can be really fun! We traditionally go on Mothers day as it is usually not too crowded (we will se this year) and maybe once again before school lets out and then we gon in the fall quite a bit. It really is a very different park from any of the Disney stuff but it is better than nothing

We bought season's passes, but we have to go get them processed. We get them for the waterpark, and because we live so close, it's convenient for my husband to come home from work and to just take off after dinner with our DD5.

Hey, we know it isn't Disney, but at least we have a park to go to! Make the best of it.

We live 15 minutes away and since we started going to WDW in August for the past few years the DD's have not even asked if they can go to CW.
My sister thought I was being mean by not taking them and asked the two DD's this year if they would like a seasons pass .They both politely declined!!! When she asked them why they told her it was boring:lmao:
She is now coming with us to WDW in August!!:rotfl::rotfl:

We love going to Wonderland and enjoy it for what it is. Our little ones enjoy the rides and love seeing Dora and the characters. For them it's a thrill and a great afternoon for the family. No, it isn't Walt Disney World, but at least it is something. If we didn't have Wonderland then I guess the next best alternative around here would be Fantasy Fair at Woodbine Center.
