The last of my sons birthday and Christmas presents were successfully delivered on Friday. Unfortunately they were not delivered to ME:mad: :sad2: This was a expedited parcel from Ontario that required a signature. We are having nothing but problems on our street with mail in wrong boxes and parcels at wrong houses. I called and complained and no one even returned my call. They could care less. I guess with a strike looming it makes ya wonder huh!!! Anyone else having problems?? :confused3

I swear there is something up with Canada Post in Calgary (and Strathmore). My BIL/SIL live out there, and EVERY single time I send a parcel it either goes missing or is severely delayed. At the time, I shipped using a Venture One account, so everything was insured - but still, it's annoying and frustrating (since normally it's gifts for my nieces). Last year, a week before Christmas, I'm rushing around trying to buy new presents so they had *something* to open from us on Christmas morning. :headache:

In any case, I've now switched to using Canpar for shipments out your way - honestly, I just can't trust CP. Keeping my fingers crossed, as nothing has gone missing in about 6 months with their service (which is also cheaper than Canada Post!!).

Hopefully the parcel landed with someone who's honest, and you'll end up getting it back. Sending you :goodvibes and a

Use insurance. Maybe this is the case also in Canada but in the U.S. if you order something from a store and pay by credit card and the item does not arrive, the store has to send you another one or face a credit card dispute.

Canada Post is going on strike? WHen? Is that the people who deliver the mail?

I hate Canada Post, I don't get how utterly slooooooow they are. We never seem to get mail on Mondays. Never see our mail man out on Mondays and have asked some of neihgbors and they say the same thing too. I don't think a gov't agency should be allowed to strike either, sorry.

It was ordered from Toys R Us:goodvibes

Well 2 gentlemen in long coats showed up at my door...mail police:confused3 :rotfl2: and asked some questions. Approx 2 hours later guess what showed up??? The parcel that was successfully delivered somewhere else on Friday....interesting:cool2:

I have no idea but we keep hearing rumours here:confused3

Canada Post is already on strike (and has been for a week), but most news reports have said that delivery isn't expected to be greatly affected (yeah, right!). I know that my packages have been slower than usual. Interesting how this would have been front page news 10 years ago, but now in the days of the internet, many people aren't even aware that the strike is happening.

I love Canada Post. I've had no problems with it at all. And it's still the cheapest way of shipping things. I send out a lot of packages (just last weekend we shipped 30 packages and the other day, we shipped about 10). I have a business account with them so everything goes Expedited...so they come with tracking. I've only lost a few packages and they were the ones going to France and Spain. I'm convinced they were lost on the France and Spain side of things. All of our packages arrive within 1-4 days of shipping depending on where it's going on in relation to us.

CanPar is good too but one time it delivered a package to a home that was a 5 minute drive from my house. And then it took them a week to get it back because the people who got the package was never home to let them have it back!!!

I won't get into all the problems I've had with UPS and Fed Ex. LOL

I guess where there's a complaint, there's a success story. I also think that a lot of routes are contracted out and that can account for the inconsistency in service.

We lived in Red Deer for four years and our family joke was that Alberta was the Bermuda Triangle for Canada Post. I lost track of how many pieces of mail (not parcels) I sent to Ontario that mysteriously never arrived. I wonder where all this mail ends up??:confused3

On Ebay.

Seriously, remember a while back Canada Post had an Ebay account and they were auctioning off all the "lost" packages. Pretty big conflict of interest if you ask me.

I hate CP. I recently moved from Wpg, and our mail guy would always walk across my lawn within a few feet of my picture window....nothing like breastfeeding my infant on the couch with a stranger walking past. :scared1: My mom works for CP (ironic) she said they're never supposed to walk across the lawn. I complained 3x then gave up, since they ask your house number. "oh yes, let's pi$$ off the guy who delivers important mail to our house". sorry, so ticked. I'd always get other people's mail at my house. :headache:

We did a forwarding address since we moved, and I'm finding that some gets delivered to the old house first, the new owners have written on it "moved", THEN it comes my way. One piece had our SIN on it, THANKS FOR NOTHING CANADA POST! What the h#ll am I paying for the forwarding service for? :confused3

Holy, if I screwed up this much at my job, I'd be fired. :scared:

GRRRRRRRRRRRR. ah, that feels better. That's my rant for the day. Thanks, dis! I can always count on you! That was brewing for a long time!

The employees on strike are the people at the 1-800 number, who take the complaints about the mail service. It is not the very slow letter carriers, who cannot deliver anything correctly.

My City (Markham Ontario) has 2 Main streets.

Main Street North and Main St "unionville".

(oddly enough both streets run north south, and one is on the east side and one is on the west side).

I frequently recieve mail for the OTHER main street with the same street number as myself.

It got particularly hairy when we BOTH recieved Express post shipments on the same day, and MINE was marked as picked up when it wasn't, (and it was my DD's birthday present)

Canada Post is just....SLOW. My overnight expidited package that I paid extra for to arrive last Friday is still not here. When I type in the tracking # it tells me that it is still being processed:sad2:
I just hope that it arrives before Christmas at this rate.
Next time I will pay the other extra and have it fed exed!!!

I'm glad your package finally got delivered!

I didn't even know Canada Post was on strike. I was wondering why I've only been getting junk mail lately.

Ya its not the mail carriers nor the mail sorters who are on strike. Its the admin personel who are on strike.

I never seem to get mail on either Monday or Friday, sometimes both!

Canada Post isn't just slow with the mail either. Last year they damaged my property and it took over 2 months for a cheque to pay for the repair even though the carrier admitted to it.
