Our last full day. When I booked the holiday it only allowed one full day for Victoria which after reading the guide books I thought was not enough for the gardens, whale watching and the BC museum, so I extended it to 3 full days.

Today was the museum visit and on reflection, we could have done all 3 in one day. I kind of got the impression that the things to do would be larger and would take more time. The Royal BC Museum is cited as being one of the best in North America and I was expecting a monumental museum like our Science and Natural History museum.

We were up but there was no rush, and had breakfast at the Broughton deli, which after the last 2 breakfasts was so much better, and then wandered over to the museum for the 10 o'clock opening.

The museum also had an IMAX cinema so I booked us in for the Surfing film in Tahiti and the Hubble Space film too. The museum was very good, the quality of the exhibits excellent, but by 11 we had wandered round all of it, and so we waited for the 2 films, and in between these we had a snack at the restaurant. We were out of there by 2pm.It was nice place but so much smaller than I was expecting.

We caught a little harbour ferry over to Fisher Mans Wharf where the other Fish and Chip shop was, called Barbs, Fish and Ships. Again excellent food, the halibut was lovely, and the batter was just like you would get in England. We ate on a table with 2 people from Philadelphia. I asked why they would come to Canada when their own country had such natural beauty and so many things to see, and they simply replied that the Canadian people were so much more friendly than American.

We got the ferry back to the harbour, ambled around and then went back to the hotel. We packed up, charged various electrical things and got ready for departure the next day. We went out again in the evening and got another ice cream, and as the light faded, we went to the hotel and to bed.

Your tips on how big places are will be very useful for other people who plan to go, me included hopefully.
