Today we were going to the Butchart Gardens. The wife is really into gardening, not really my thing. My idea of gardening is a plant pot on tarmac, but she has the garden and allotment to look after.

We ate breakfast in the hotel, but it was not included in the price, which was a relief, because it was so poor we never ate in the hotel again.Scrambled eggs were as dry as a desert, and the sausages were terrible, but the lady who served us was very nice.

The restaurant was awful too, it was full of 1980's cane furniture, I just did not like it there.

We were on the coach for 9.30 for the drive to the gardens, and although I am not a garden person, they were superb, the Japanese garden for me was especially nice. I thoroughly enjoyed walking around them. The photo's don't do it justice.

The only down side was it was not as large as I was expecting, so by 12 we were having lunch, of friend chicken.

We were back on the coach at 1.30, and back in victoria by 2.30. So I decided to walk up to Beacon Hill park and find the Mile Zero marker for the Trans Canadian Highway.

Had our photo here, then walked back through the park, which we got lost in, and ended up in Cook Community, and had to asked for help to get back to the harbour ! We got back to the hotel, where we did some more laundry, as we had a lot of time, we decided to do all the washing before going home, as although the hotel was not exactly my taste the laundry was free and all the rooms had free Wi Fi so we did a few emails.

We then went to Milestones which is on the harbour for an evening meal, and again as good as the one in Vancouver, but I ordered lamb and the portion was very small :(. We finished up, walked around a bit and took some photos of the harbour at night, then back to bed.

I liked Victoria as we had seen a lot of it on the O' Canada film at the Epcot pavilion, and every time we had gone there we always said we would visit.

Lovely gardens :goodvibes
