Today was a transfer day. We were off to Victoria, via the Ferry. We would get the coach, which would take us to the Ferry terminal, about an hours drive, then onto the ferry via the beautiful Gulf Islands. Then onto Victoria, where we would be dropped off at the Victoria Bus Station.
Victoria would be the Butchart Gardens, Whale Watching and the Royal BC Museum, I had allocated 1 day each after reading the many guide books.
We ate breakfast, while watching England loose to Germany, it was embarrassing, although when Lampard equalised I jumped out of my seat, much to everyone else's amazement in the restaurant!
We checked out, waited for the coach, and it was the first day where there had been some rain, and it was a little overcast. We bid a fond farewell to Vancouver and the coach whisked us away to the ferry terminal.
On the ferry we had the all you can eat Ocean Buffet ! But there were no chips, I was astonished, but never mind, I made sure I ate enough to compensate.
We finished off, and went on to the deck, where a lady was doing a nature talk about all the wildlife that lives around the Gulf Islands. We were soon back on the coach and off the ferry.
Drive to Victoria was bout 30 minutes. We were dropped off at the coach station, and the hotel was about 4 minutes away.
I was really disappointed with the hotel, it was old looking, English Boutique it was supposed to be, but to me fake mahogany room furniture is not English Boutique. The lobby smelled of deep fat friers because all the cooking was done in the basement. The staff were really friendly though.
We then dropped the bags off, went out down to the coach station and got the bus times and tickets for next days trip to Butchart Gardens. After that we took a walk along the famous Inner Harbour, and took in the sights of the Empress Hotel and Parliament Building.
This area was great people watching stuff, and I found Darth Vader playing the violin!
We went back to the hotel, and ended up watching Star Wars, and went to sleep !
