Can you wear your contacts with googles at Discovery Cove?

Hi:
I have not snorkeled in years. Do the goggles leak or will I be fine wearing my contacts all day with them?

Thanks for any tips!

Last year my daughter wore hers all day and she was 12 at the time. I've always snorkeled in contacts (till lasik) so I see no issue as long as they're not hard lenses.

I'd bring a spare pair and glasses just in case you have issues.

I wear hard contacts and had no problems with the goggles. I'm blind otherwise, so I need to wear them most of the time.

Did I read somewhere that they have prescription goggles available? My daughter doesn't wear contacts and she can't see at all without her glasses!

yes they do have the prescription ones. You have to go and check them out and get fitted for them. My sister got them last year and freaked out because they put them in the same colored bag as kids so one of the boys grabbed hers instead of his and until we got them back I thought she was going to cry :) I can't remember how much they said they would cost if you didn't return them.

Why do you say "...as long as they're not hard lenses?"

Good to know - thanks!

Yes, they have prescription goggles available. I ended up wearing my contacts. When I removed my contacts that evening, I threw them away (I planned it so I wore contacts that were about to be thrown out as I didn't want to use a two-week pair for just one day). I had read something about bacteria in water and reusing contacts worn while swimming, so I wanted to be on the safe side. :)
