Can you walk from the Grand Floridian to the Polynesian?

If so, how long a walk is it, and is there some kind of walking path to follow?

Yes, you can walk from the Poly to the GF and vice/versa in 5 minutes.
there is a path, and it is very easy to follow, you walk past the wedding pavilion and the GF Spa.

Yes, normally it's a beautiful stroll along the water. However right now they've got it all blocked off and torn up for reapirs or whatever, and you need to walk along the road, which takes a lot more time and there isn't a sidewalk. I'd suggest the monorail instead.

...if you don't want to walk, take the little ferry boat. From the GF dock, by Narcoosee's. It takes you right to the Poly in about five minutes.
