Can you Waitlist a Room even if the middle night is available?

We have a standard studio booked at the VGF in March for 5 nights. I know my chances of a waitlist coming through for 5 nights is VERY slim (probably impossible), but we figured we would try with a waitlist and looking at the website often (I got lucky last year and snagged 6 nights at BWV over Labor Day weekend on a whim one morning about 3 months out from our vacation). We are happy staying in the studio but trying to use up some banked points and switch to a 1 bedroom.

Currently, there is one of my nights available, smack dab in the middle of my 5 nights. Can I waitlist ALL 5 nights even if there is currently one night available in the middle of my stay? We would want all or nothing. Don't want to have to switch rooms. I've only done a waitlist once and it was for one night at the beginning of our last vacation and it was easy.

Yes, I believe so. Just set it up and see if it takes. The alternative (since you are allowed to set up two waitlists) is to set up a waitlist for each of the bookends.

Thank you. I'll have to go back and see how I can do it. It wasn't giving me the option to Waitlist, just book the one night that was available.

EDIT - Figured it out! You have to reselect the dates while you are on the page that shows the available nights. Then it takes you to the waitlist for the full time!

If you have the points I suggest grabbing the one room and then use two waitlists grabbing each end. Much more likely those bookend nights will fill individually as opposed together.

As other have suggested, grab the middle night and make 2 waitlists around it. Keep stalking!!!! If any nights come available grab them and then cancel the 2 night and make a new 1 night WL. Always keep stalking. WL and stalking are always most effective for shorter stays.
