Can you visit the AKL if you are staying at another disney resort

Is it possible to take the bus from the animal kingdom park and have lunch at mara and look around the lodge. I hear people talking about viewing areas, can we go to those areas as well. Thanks,

yes! that is what we did only having dinner at jiko's. just get on any AKL bus at one of the parks or downtown disney.

We were told that you could only visit if you had dinner reservations, so I did PS at Jinko's. We got on a bus for AKL at Downtown Disney. No one asked to see anything or asked why were there. We really didn't need the dinner reservations, although we enjoyed it.

Yep. Don't expect much out of Mara, though. It's a great resort, though.
