Thanks!

I agree with PrincessShmoo and all her fabulous pix to illustrate. So IMO, as Shmoo says, NO..... BUT you can use FRESH cups from the DCL dispensers shown and fill THEM up to fill up your cute cruise cups. As someone with a background in healthcare, if asked I would want someone to use a fresh paper cup for EACH time to prevent cross contamination. Thanks for asking though! :flower3: That shows you care :thanks:

I’ll totally be using the transfer method when filling up my personal mug. My Yeti tumbler will be getting plenty of use and a big shout out/thank you to southerngirl528 for recommending it along with the handle. :thumbsup2

DCL really should invest in water bottle fillers. I have them both at work and at my gym and they are awesome! If you have never seen them they are usually in combination with a water fountain but you simply place your bottle/Tevis/swell next to a sensor and water dispenses from a few inches away (nothing touches). Easy, quick, sanitary, and saves a lot of waste!

When filling something large, I punch a hole in the bottom of a fresh cup and use it as a funnel. Nothing touches the dispenser lever or nozzle but a clean fresh cup, and I’m not standing there refilling and pouring cups over and over into my Yeti, losing carbonation along the way.

Actually those fillers are usually the dirtiest part of the fountain. When the water enters your cup/bottle, some splashes up to the dispenser. Totally normal and is also what happens at a drinking fountain as you drink. However, because of the orientation of the system, most cleaning companies/people don't clean the actual opening where the water comes out. They only clean the plate at the bottom. On a traditional fountain, they can see the opening that lets out the water and clean that daily.

Unless things have changed, no. These signs are at the drink stations (pool deck and Cabanas)

They've changed. A month or two ago people started to report signs that indicated not to touch the nozzle if refilling a cup.

Very clever!

I bring my own refillable mug, but fill it up using a fresh paper cup each time. It’s more hygienic this way which is So important on a cruise ship.

That is what we did on our 10 day Med Cruise this past year. We used the a fresh paper cups to fill up our refillable bottle with ice and soda each time.

No, you are not supposed to be but plenty of people do and CMs don't enforce the rule.

:lmao:So the Yeti bug bit you! I think you will love it! Be sure your name is on that sucker in case you get so relaxed on the cruise you leave it somewhere! ::yes:: Otherwise someone is going to be like, YIPPEEE!, I have a Yeti now! Something I learned AFTER I bought my most recent Yeti online was that THEY will personalize it for you!!! And if I recall correctly, it was for no extra charge. I missed that somehow..... :confused3

I am seeing these water filter/dispensers at WDW in a few places now.

As if KIDS would be so careful! :sad2:

As a mom of 3, I understand that BIG time, but I suppose I am a helicopter mom, because for me, this is as important as teaching kids how to properly wash their hands. No way I would let my little darlings go refill their cups if they were not well trained and tested to do it in a manner safe for both them and others. JMHO.

New cups don’t make as much sense with these machines because the machines are ones where no contact with the machine is necessary other than your finger on the top button (see Princess’ pictures). For the cup to touch the nozzle you’d be putting the nozzle inside the cup.

With the move to be green getting 20 small cups a day for the 3 swigs you get per cup has become a problem Disney is trying to address.
