We are staying BWV for three nights in Aug. then moving to SSR for 5 nights. I was wondering...if you can buy the plan for one reservation? We have not tried the dining plan but thought it might be worth trying on one of our ressies? Thanks

We did it for a trip to BWV. The first night was one reservation without the dining plan. Then the remaing 6 nights had the dining plan.

Yes, I would recommend doing it for the first half of the trip-then if you have left over snacks you can bring them w/you to the other. Plus, it is good until midnight on the day you check out so you could still use it for dinner that night.

So does it start on the day you check in or the next day. For example we are arriving BWV on Aug. 16th for 3 nights..then moving to SSR for 5 nights. So does it start on the 17th through midnight on the 24th.

If you do the DDP only for the BWV portion of your trip, the credits would be good starting Aug 16, and they would be usable until midnight Aug. 19th, since Aug 19th is your check-out day from the BWV.

So for that ressie....am I paying 3 days or 4 days of dining?

If your trip is 3 nights, you get 3 TS, 3 CS and 3 snacks for each person in your group. You pay for 3 nights of dining.

It begins when you check in and expires at midnight on the day you check out. So I agree that it is better to do it on the first section.

As noted yes to getting it for one but not the other. I'd take your arrival and departure info into consideration as well as your dining choices and restaurant plans before you decide which portion to get it.

If you decide you like the dining plan, please note that you need to have that on your reservation at least one day prior to your check-in date. So, is you like it and want to add it to your reservation on the second leg of your trip, call SSR one day prior to your check in. You can't add it when you check in.
Also, PLEASE make advance dinner reservations or it may be VERY difficult to eat at the restaurants you'd like.
I hope you have a great time. We LOVE the dining plan!

We've done the dining plan twice, and both times it was a split reservation. Yes, you can definitely do that.

We're considering this for the first part of our trip. I have a few questions, though.

Do you call Member Services to get the DDP? Do you then pay in full now or do you pay when you check in? What if you have to cancel your trip (assuming DDP is prepaid)? When you make ADR's do you have to say you're on the DDP?

Some have posted about bringing leftover snacks with them to the next resort. What kind of snacks are you talking about?

Thanks for any info!

Yes, call MS to link the dinig plan to your reservation. You do not pay upfront, you pay when you check in to your resort. If the reservation is cancelled, the DDP is also cancelled. Usually when you make ADRs, they will ask if you are on the DDP.

I assume they are talking about things like boxes of donuts and rice crispy treats, any type of snack item that "travels" well and has an adequate shelf life.

Thanks for the quick reply! One more question: Can you use your Disney rewards (from Disney Visa) towards the DDP? Thanks!

This post read my mind.

We are staying 6 nights Easter Week. Get this. With three reservation.
First night, cash.
Night two, DVC.
Night three through six another reservation.

This is great news.
