I know if you take your laptop and sign on through disney it's 9.95 a day.

But we're thinking of getting mobil broadband so we can have service everywhere.

Will we still have it in Disney? Or do we still have to pay?

Mobile broadband like through Verizon , AT&T, or Sprint or something? If you get that, with one of those cards in the side of the computer on a monthly plan, you can use it anywhere the provider has signal.

Disney sells wired ethernet, or Wi-Fi, but Wi-Fi isn't even in the rooms usually just lobby.

Mobile broadband from a provider with a monthly fee is completely different, and Disney would have no impact on it. Just like using a cell phone, disney doesn't control.

Hope that helps a little.

I've used my Sprint air card at Boardwalk Villas and Fort Wilderness with a great signal at both.

We are planning to use Verizon on our upcoming trip. We know that we get great Verizon signal on our cell phones at WDW, so we assume that we will have no problem with the mobile modem. Maggie

For us, T-Mobile wasn't too good in the VWL. :sad1:

T-Mobile doesn't have very good wireless net. They're limited to EDGE only speeds, which are pretty lame, so when edge is even off it's game, it's really bad. ha-ha.

the carriers that have 3G technology have very fast speeds.

Can anyone tell me how much these cards and services cost? Also, can I use one on my MacBook?

MacBook right, not a Mac Book Pro?

On a MacBook, no, you cannot. It doesn't have a card slot. On a Pro you can use some.

I'm on the can't category. :( However, I don't worry bout it too much since service is usually $60 a month or so.

I was wrong. Verizon has a USB one that works with Mac OS X. It's not very sleek though, but using at a desk would be fine.

2 yr contract makes it $100, and then the $60 a month. At least there is a USB card now, for those who need the service.

Verizon, and several other carriers, also offer PDA style phones that be used as high-speed modems. They can connect to a PC via USB cable or Bluetooth.

We had great luck with my Sprint mobile broadband at BWV. I pay about $60/month.
