Can you use child's AP to get AP rate?

I know this question has been asked a million times, but I've never opened the threads because our whole family had an AP, so it didn't matter. We didn't renew them this year as we only planned on making one trip - we make out better with the FL resident 3 day tickets. But if FL resident rates don't come out for our dates, we've got an AP rate reserved. Just wondering if I could use a child's AP to qualify for the rate.

Yes, we used my DD's for our trip and made sure every CM we talked to knew she was only 3yo. They said as long as she was staying in our room we could use it and we had no problem.
