Can you upgrade to deluxe from free dining by paying only the difference?

I'm curious if this is allowed. Has anyone done this from past years to give a definitive answer? I was thinking it's more money in Disney's pocket; so, it should be allowed to upgrade.

It would be a great time to try a better plan, if you only had to pay the price difference between the plans.

So, can you do it?

They offered me the chance to upgrade when I booked the bounceback free dining for Sept. (I declined) I can't remember how much extra it was though..

I may be wrong, and someone tell me if I am, but I'm pretty sure the only people who may be able to answer that are the ones who booked their's with the bounceback offer. I think this is the 1st year with Disney having more than 1 dining plan to choose from. I can't remember exactly when the 2 new dining plans were introduced but I'm pretty sure it was after the free dining for last year.
But, I'm also curious for this answer.

You are right...there was only 1 dining plan up through 12/31/07 so it will be interesting to see how they handle Free Dining with different plans...I guess we will just have to wait until the special comes out to see.

They did offer the upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan during the Free Dining Bounceback. You had to pay the difference between the regular dining plan and the deluxe. I don't remember the exact figures though.

Whether or not Disney offers it again this time around no one knows. Guess we will find out come Monday if the offer comes out.
