Can you upgrade DVC discount water park tickets to water park annual pass?

We are planning to purchase 5 water park annual passes this summer. There is a DVC discount on day passes for the water parks, but not on the annual pass. Can you purchase a discounted 1-day ticket and then upgrade it to an annual pass and retain the discount? (i.e. Would they count the ticket at the $62 face value rather than the $45 paid when upgrading). We have the Gold Annual Pass and don't plan to go during the blackout dates, so it doesn't make sense for us to upgrade to the Platinum Plus passes. Even without the discount, it is cheaper to purchase water park annual passes than to upgrade to Platinum Plus.

I believe if you buy tickets from Disney, they do not give face value for those tickets, but only the amount that was paid. So you would only get the $45 credit towards the pass.

As mentioned, tickets bought directly from Disney do not get bridged.
