Can you upgrade a Room only reservation to a package?

I know I have to quit piddling around and get my dates reserved for December.

Does anyone know - if I make just a room reservation now, can I later upgrade it to a MYW package?

THANK YOU!

I want to get a package so we can get the dining plan, my husband thinks it will be cheaper to get everything separately so we can get our room & tickets with the military discount.

I know it will take me some time (and a series of charts and math equations, probably) to get him to see it my way, and I didn't want to lose out on our preferred dates.

If you get a SOG rollover rate, you cannot add the dining plan to it. I have tried! The SOG and Disney reservation systems are separate and Disney cannot add the plan to the SOG-created ressie and SOG cannot do the dining plan period.

For us it was cheaper to take the SOG rollover rate than to do the dining plan. It is also hard to pass up the discounted tickets.

Your hubby is probably right with this; it is cheaper to get it separately. I have really struggled with missing the dining plan! But, we usually do not eat an appetizer with dinner and seldom order a drink (water for us), so we would have just been ordering because we could!

Hope this helps!

I have quotes for five different options - including SOG + military discount tickets, off-site + mil. disc. tickets, and three on-site options with the dining. (Yes, I am pathetic).

According to my calculations, as long as we eat $150 worth of food each day it's worth it. There are five of us, so I think we can do that. Plus, how much fun would it be to try to eat the most expensive stuff possible vs. trying to economize on meals?

Anyway, I did go ahead and make our reservations, so at least I know we will have a place to sleep!

If you get the dining plan and make your ADRs, you'll eat more than $150 at dinner for five people unless three are childre and you still might.
DBF and I had a $108 meal at LeCellier (a great meal) on the DDP so we "made" $30 that day on dinner alone. Now, we would eat sit down for dinner even without the plan. If you would too, then you'll make out well.

Yeah, for 5 people you would come out ahead with DDP vs. SOG rollover discount. There are just 2 of us going.

But, if you do decide to go the SOG rollover route, compare price of tickets at home base vs. price of tickets at SOG. I have found SOG to be cheaper.

you are right, it would be much more fun to be able to order whatever you want!
