Can you upgrade a room booked through Undercover Tourist?

Is it possible to upgrade a room purchased from Undercover Tourist through Disney? For example, if I booked a room through Undercover Tourist and wanted to upgrade to a more expensive room class at the same resort after the Undercover Tourist cancellation deadline, could I do that through Disney and pay the difference directly to Disney?

I think you may be able to upgrade a reservation made through a third party, like Undercover Tourist, but not until you check into the resort. Disney doesn't "own" the third party reservation until after you check in to the resort.

That's correct. You would have to ask at check-in to see if there is availability and then pay any price difference. Prices will most likely be at rack rate at that time so there is zero financial incentive to do this. If you know you want a different room category and are willing to pay the difference, you would be much better off looking for a discount for that particular room category elsewhere (like through a WDW general public promo if released for your dates).

Thanks! It’s not that we definitely want a different room category. We’re booked at the Poly in a GV CL room, and I’ve noticed that the price for a TPV CL room has dropped twice in the last week using my PIN code. If it dropped a little bit more, I might be able to convince DH that we should upgrade, but we are 10 days out from our trip and the deadline to cancel and rebook is Monday.

I’ll keep checking between now and Monday and then once it’s too late to cancel my current reservation, I have to stop looking!
