Can you upgrade a 3 day 3 parks ticket to a 2 park annual pass?

If the lesser pass with blackout dates works for you this year, could you wait until the black out dates for next year are posted before scheduling vacation? We always book our May or June trip in early February, and so far, they have had at least through June posted by then.
If not, you could upgrade the passes next year, if you must travel during a blackout period...delay/spread out the extra cost

thank you! I just realized this now. We most likely will go with the passes that don't have the summer blackout dates.......if we start with 3 park tickets to get a use of volcano bay for a day or so this trip...... because I think we will be getting credit for almost equal to the cost of the power pass and exceeding cost of seasonal pass so may as well pay 10 bucks or so difference and not have the extra blackouts.....although a 3 park seasonal might be an option as well at that point---but I think that's also going to have to be the pass that doesn't have July blocked out in order for me to get both the passholder discount on our hotel as well as still be able to get into the parks on the 4th which is our checkout date.....if we upgrade on the 3rd to show our pass to front desk night before checkout then we will still need to be able to get in the parks with july admission the next day. It's not a make it or break it with the blackout dates---I just keep crunching numbers and trying to figure out what is the best cost scenario. We really are pretty flexible with travels, but I don't want to take the kids out of school for a trip unless I really have to at their ages they will be this coming year, plus one of those traveling with us this trip is my sister who is a librarian at an elementary school and I know she can only travel during summer/breaks (breaks would pretty much be blacked out I think for her during the school year with either option We don't live close enough to justify the cost of any of the other passes for sure.)

Thanks for all of the input everyone! If anyone knows for sure if I can still upgrade the 3 day ticket on the 3rd day after it's used for park entry, that would be super helpful as well.....or if I for sure need a 4 day ticket if I plan to upgrade on the afternoon of the 3rd day.
