We LOVE to camp but living in Ohio makes for one long drive with a camper in tow. :lmao:

I think my kids would love this event. Does it always start at the same time? Do you have to be a WDW resort guest to attend?

Any info will help!!
Thanks!

It is free to all WDW resort guests--you don't have to stay at Ft. Wilderness. The time of year makes a difference in starting time. It is next to Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. Sing-a-long begins around 7 p.m. during the fall/winter season and and then changes to 8 pm after time change spring through the summer. They light the fires about a half hour before it starts so you can start roasting marshmallows early. A cast member starts it off with a sing-a-long which my kids always enjoyed. You can roast marshmallows around one of 2 campfires on each side. Chip & Dale make an appearance and mingle with the crowd for pictures/autographs. If you don't have your own marshmallows you can buy them at the Chuckwagon. They also sell snacks and drinks. It lasts about 40 mintues and after the campfire there is Disney movie shown on the outside screen. There are bleachers/benches to sit on but you can also bring a blanket to sit on. It is a pretty large area. If it happens to rain they do a sing-a-long on the porch of the trading post. One of our favorite Disney memories for sure! :goodvibes

There is no kind of vetting at the campfire to assure that you are able to attend. The only hitch that a non-Disney resort guest might encounter is that to get to the campfire one would normally use a Disney bus. Well, access to Disney transportation is reserved for Disney resort guests only. In the unlikely event that the bus driver asks for your Key to the World card, simply exit the bus and hoof it. It can't be more than a half mile. But I sincerely doubt the driver will give you a glance. Enjoy the campfire!

Just drive to Ft. Wilderness. The guard should direct you to park in the overflow parking. Get on the bus there to the meadow...hop out and walk over to the campfire and movie. It's a lot of fun. Love to sit under the stars and watch a Disney movie....and eat smores.

We are not going to be resort guests but I hope we can still find time to do it. A half mile isn't that bad of a walk. I think. LOL.

The last time we went we also stayed off-site and we had no problems with transportation then.

Thanks all!

I warn you, once you see Fort Wilderness you WILL be bringing your camper in the future!

We went to Hoop De Doo Revue as non-campers....hadda come back with my RV!

I've never had a bus driver ask me for resort proof. I'm sure if you just get on up at the outpost where you park you'll be fine. You want the bus that goes to Meadow Trading Post.

And another idea is you can ride the boat from MK over to Ft. Wilderness, walk up the walkway past pioneer hall to the circle drive where the bus picks up and ride the one that goes to Meadow Trading Post.

Of the thousands of trips I have taken on Disney buses I have NEVER been asked for my resort ID.
