Hi Everyone,

Can someone give me an explaination about what happens at pin night at the Contemporary? I think it is Friday nights.
I have a 10 yr old son, who will be trading pins on our five day trip - is it worth it to go here for a little while? Do they have special pins for kids? How long does it take?

Thanks for answering,
Catrin :earsboy:

While I don't feel totally qualified to answer you, since there are others here who have been there more freqently and recently, I give it a try. (WARNING: Personal Opinion)
Pin Trading Nights on Fridays at the Contemporary are intimidating to me. It is a small area with a lot of people and poor lighting. Most of the people I've encountered were rude and only wanted to trade if the trade was waaaaaaaay in their favor. Hence I don't go there any more.
It can take as long as you want it to take.
On the pluse side for you is that there is a separate trading area for kids (but I don't know the age limits)
When in Orlando, I do go to the Thursday night pin trading at the All Star Sports resort (food court area). Better crowd, better arrangement with chairs and tables for everyone and again a kid's area.
An idea for you would be to go to Thursday night to All Star Sports and see if your child likes it, then offer it the next night at the Contemporary.
Regarding special pins, you never know. Ask when you are there.

Hey Daber
Thankyou for the information on All stars resorts . I would like to know which of the all stars exactly . I will be headed to WDW at the end of April . I was wondering , How can I get a logo signature like the one you have . I would like a Mickey Mouseketter with the logo name Rock . Is that something possible to do ?

Every Thursday night starting about 7 PM @ the All Star Sports Food Court.

Also if you have never attend a Scoop Pin Talk at the Main St. Expo Hall in Magic Kingdom, you should plan to attend one.

There will be a lot of pin traders in WDW at the end of this month, because of the DAK Stitch Pin Event.

As far as the logo, it was made for me by Dom13 on the boards here.

Thanks for the reply!

We arrive Thursday afternoon, and are staying at POR.... maybe we can go to AllStar that afternoon/night for the first event. Sounds like fun there.
Thanks!

.

I actually feel the same way and I have been pin trading for five years now on the heavy side. No fun at Contemporary anymore. I might go to see some of my friends only.

Allstars is a good place to go on Thursday nights.
