can you take your golf cart from FW to WL?

So, I noticed there are no CS restaurants at FW, but there are at the WL. I found a map and saw there is a trail from FW to WL. Is this a trail I could take with our golf cart?(we are renting from Tee Time) If so, how long might it take to get there? We are doing the dining plan, and have many of our TS booked already for during the day. If I need a CS for dinner, is this a reasonable place to go eat?
Thanks!

No you can't use a golf cart on that path. The Wispering Caynon however is a fun place to eat and Artist Point is one of the best.

Take the cart to the marina and hop the "blue flag" boat to the lodge, it's a short ride. There is also a bus that runs to the lodge.

As others have said, no GC on that trail. You can however ride bikes over, and there is a bike rack near the WL beach to lock them up. We love heading from the Fort over to Roaring Forks to grab a bite!

Roaring Forks is a great place for lunch. We try to eat there each time we stay at FW. We ride our bikes over and it takes under 10 minutes - 15 or 20 if you are lucky enough to see deer.

Well you can take the cart. But the Disney 5-0 ain't gonna like it. If you do you won't be the first to ever do it.

Well....technically you can. We were tooling around in the golf cart and accidentally (really!) went all the way to the latticed, automatic gates that the busses use. We went through it (almost to WL) and thought..."hmm...maybe we should go back..." The gate back into FW would not let us enter through! We had to go back around the gate we originally went through (off roading a bit). However, on the way back, we saw:

Sorry, I can't figure out how to directly post a picture.

I would recommend taking the boat or bus over =)

No not legaly but IMHO that is part of the way they treat us like second class guests.
No place in FW but you are within walking distance of a nice place.

When enough people abuse the use of carts, it will give Disney the incentive to ban private carts. Just my thoughts.

..............and it will give me the incintive not to come back as much and spend money.:thumbsup2

In all honesty though, rules are rules and FW has said no carts to WL period. They provide a bus and water taxi there so it's not like they're asking you to walk. If you've never walked or ridden a bike over there you're missing out on a nice view.

Private carts are not the only ones breaking rules.

I am going to try to see if we can fit the bikes in for our next trip.

Anyone know how long the walk is? I still don't own a bike and if I don't have one before the trip, I may just let the kids ride and I will walk. Is it too late to ask Santa for a bike?

Thanks for all the thoughts and ideas!

Depending on where our cabin is, we will either ride the boat or drive our cart to the beginning of the path and walk the rest of the way.

I just find it interesting that there is no counter service at FW. I made several TS ADRs, so that means I need to be creative in finding dinner after nap. (most of my ADRs are character breakfasts or lunches)

You can get food at the Meadows Snack Bar during the day (MENU) and takeout from Trails End from 4:30 on (MENU) - but yeah, a true CS location at FW is sorely lacking.

It's my hope that they put one in some day similar to Roaring Forks. We really like that place and even if they put one in on a smaller version it would be an improvement.
