Can you take Magical Express back to MCO if you're not flying out that day?

No flames please. Just want to know. We are flying in to MCO, taking the Magical Express to AKL, then we are needing to get back to MCO to rent a car. We are going to St. Augustine to visit family. We will be flying home out of MCO, so it makes sense to just rent a car at the airport, and return it before we fly home. I was just curious if they allow you to take the Magical Express back to MCO to get to the rental car counters.

No flames at all. No problem doing that. I've done it multiple times.

Just give them information for a flight that leaves the day you want to go back. They don't have access to any flight information other than what you give them.

I imagine it might be a problem if you tried to do multiple round trips, but I doubt they'd care as long as there was space on a bus.

You're allowed one trip MCO>WDW on or after the day your reservation starts, and one trip WDW>MCO on or before the day you check out.

You don't even need to find a flight number. Just call the Magical Express toll-free number (or dial 0 from your resort room phone and ask to be connected to DME) and let them know the day and time you want to return to MCO.

But have you checked rental rates near the parks?

Always a good idea to see what closer rental offices will charge. I tend to rent through Alamo/National from the Dolphin. But I find that renting at MCO can be cheaper...especially if I'm returning the car there. I have taken DME back to MCO to pick up my car for the remainder of my trip. It worked quite well.

Before renting a car at a resort and planning to return it at the airport, check to be sure it won't be more expensive that way. Although renting from one location and returning to another location in Florida often has no surcharge, this is not always the case and this can vary day by day.

You will not be able to take Magical Express back to the airport after returning a car to a resorts' rental counter long after your Disney's resort stay had ended.

As far as the original question goes, the six inch black water filled ball* with the big white "8" and a little fortune telling window on it comes up with "Yes definitely".

* Not permitted in carryon baggage although a TSA agent not knowing what it is might let it go through.
