Can you still use WDW unexpired days to get DL ticket?

I have some WDW 10 park hopper, with 6 fun extras(water park, downtown disney) that do not expire.

I think I have 2 days left on mine and my wifes and a few more days left on our kids.

Can you still take those tickets to DL and get a DL admission ticket and they take 1 day off?

I had heard about this before, but have not done it before. We are thinking of going out for my birthday this week, so i would get in free, and wanted to see if we can use a day to get them in free as well using the unexpired days on the WDW tickets.

If so, how do i go about doing this and is it easy and hassle free, or is there a problem doing it?

Yes you can. You can take your tickets to the turnstile for whichever Park you want to start and then ask to speak with a Lead and they'll have you step to the side so they can continue assisting other Guests. The Lead will go into the office and call WDW and confirm the number of days left you have on your WDW ticket and then redeem those days for a DLR Park Hopper.

This does not work the other way around though, DLR tickets cannot be used at WDW.

Just to further clarify the process so you know exactly what to expect...

It will happen exactly as BurntToast has explained above, except they will only remove one day. They will then issue you your park ticket for the day and give you back your WDW passes (minus a day). To use several leftover WDW days, you must repeat the process each day, removing only 1 at a time.

Hey OP, I'm going to hi-jack your thread for a second...

Does anyone know if this can also be done on Complimentary tickets? I had a total mess of a stay last year at AKL in WDW, and was given 3 day comp tickets as a result. Which would be great if I wasn't an AP holder, so they really have no use for me. I'm thinking about going to DL this winter, and it would be totally awesome if I could use those tickets instead of buying some.

No, they will NOT take comp tickets at DL. I just tried to use one last week and was told they wouldn't accept them.

Yes (I am guessing your WDW ticket is a hopper.)

I personally have not but several on this board have. If you plan on doing 2 days, you must do the above process each day. They will remove/convert 1 day at a time.

If your WDW ticket was a non park hopper, then you will get a non park hopper ticket for whatever park you are entering at the time. If your WDW ticket had the park hopper option, you will get a parkhopper ticket.

You can only get one ticket per day from your WDW ticket. Just go right up to the turnstyles and the CM there will call someone over to convert your WDW ticket to a one day Disneyland ticket. Only one day at a time, you have to convert the WDW ticket to Disneyland ticket each day. It's pretty fast and relatively painless.
