Can you still see Lightning and Mater other than in the play Parade

We will be going to Disneyland in a couple of months and was wondering with the play parade starting whether the cars were still out to meet. When we were there last year, they stopped over by the wharf, but haven't heard whether they are still there or over at Condor Flats or if they just make appearances for the parade. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

From what I understand, Mater and Lightning are only in the parade now, not available for meet/greets anymore.

Oh No, they have to be there! When we went in November we saw them for a meet and greet, but things definitely could have changed as Danger Mouse said. We are taking our nephew in 10 days and he really has his heart set on meeting them and getting a picture We will have one crushed little fan with us. If for some reason we are able to find them for a photo I will let you guys know. My favorite was when they used to rev up their engines and drive out- the kids used to go nuts! It was so cute.

They were already gone when I was just there in February, and I haven't heard of them being relocated anywhere. I'm pretty certain they are kept backstage and let out only for the parade. Sorry.

It may not be practical for out-of-town visitors, but the Peterson's Automotive Museum in L.A. has a special exhibit called "The Art of Cars". There are life-size replicas of Lightning McQueen and Tow Mater as the exhibits highlights. The exhibit opened just last weekend and runs through November. I hope to check it out myself in the next few weeks or so. It looks pretty cool!

Ya they are only in the parade now. I really have to agree with others, I wish there was a meet and greet place for them as well when they arnt in the parade.

Awwww that sucks! I know my sons gonna be mad he loves the cars movie! But when he got his pics with them they didn't do anything he just got to stand beside they didn't move talk or anything....

I read over on the WDW boards that although Mater is still available for meet and greets at DHS, Lightning has been sent to CA for 6 weeks. Not sure why though.
