Can you still go into Cinderella's castle if you're not eating???

We're going to WDW in May but are thinking about passing up eating at the royal table. (not sure that's a good idea). Anyway, my 4-yr old absolutely wants to go in the castle (that's all he talks about!) but can we do that if we choose not to eat there???

Yes. There is a walkway through the castle that has a detailed mosaic of the Cinderella story and of course a gift shop.

You are able to walk through the bottom of the castle, but you are not able to go up to the restaraunt level. However, the passage way is closed around fireworks times and during some parades. Hope that helps. Have fun!

The downstairs waiting area is not much more than an "empty room" with some benches.

There is a throne where Cindy sometimes sits and meets guests.

The CM who "checks you into the restaurant" watches who goes inside and sometimes allows "visitors".

But the bottom line is, there is really not much to see.

The restaurant is upstairs.
You are not really supposed go upstairs unless and until you are "called" for your ressie.

Ask. I did eat in the castle for breakfast and for lunch. But before I ate there, I asked the CM if I could go up into the castle to look for the "hidden Mickey" up there. She allowed me to come back at a certain time to look for it. So ask them- what can it hurt? And, to add to what someone else said, the walkways in front of the castle are closed during the castle shows and during Wishes (but is opened in the middle of the day during SADCT).

just wondering when you took this...last time we were there most of the mosiacs were permanently blocked off and i am hoping that is no longer so. i was very disappointed not to be able to see them...the look good in your pic so maybe they were refurbishing them ( jan of 04 )

Maybe some were blocked off for the stage show. They block off the stage when the show is going on during the day.
