Can you still get on rides with a fanny pack?

I haven't been to Universal in three years. The last time, I was able to ride everything (even FJ) with my fanny pack. I never needed to get a locker. I just wanted to make sure the rules were still the same. Or if they make you put a fanny pack in the locker now, too. Because if I have to use the locker either way, I'd rather bring a normal bag. But if I can skip lockers, it's worth the indignity of wearing a fanny pack. :lmao:

Thanks!

Rip Ride Rockit and Hulk have been making you put everything in a locker lately.

Ok, thanks. We have one member of our party who won't go on those, so he can hold the stuff. What about Gringotts and FJ? I'll be skipping Dueling Dragons--did it once and my stomach is all set. hahahaha.

A couple of weeks ago, I rode FJ and Gringotts several times with my fanny pack. They never said a word. In fact, I saw them purposely eye it when I entered the line and they just waved me through.

My daughter was allowed to ride Hulk with a very small, slim fanny pack. But she has Down syndrome, so I don't know if they just let her on thinking she needed it or if they were allowing very slim fanny packs on the ride.

Everybody else just gave me their phones and wallets for Hulk and RRR as I don't ride those.

The only time we used lockers was when we had purchased wands and had to stow them to go ride Gringotts.

So much better to call them waist packs. Gives the Australian Dis'ers fewer "what are they saying!!!!??" heart attacks.

RRR and Hulk aren't allowing waist packs anymore. Unless the TMs don't notice, it seems.

We call them bum bags in the UK too...........

First time my son who was 13 at the time heard someone say oh I like your fanny pack...his face was a picture..........as my lovely tag says.....it's a bit of a roodie doodie word for lady parts :rotfl::rotfl:

It sounds like they are pretty much taking everything away at RRR and the Hulk. I hope that they don't add any other rides.

I don't know, if we could get the Dragons to duel again I'd be OK with a stricter policy.

Saw several people turned away with fanny packs at Gringott's and Hulk over the past couple days.

I was the unwitting provider of one of these heart attacks to a gentleman proprietor of a charming little book and stationery shop near The Rocks in Sydney. I wanted to chronicle the 3-week trip that DH and I took when we had two incomes and could still afford that sort of thing. It was our first full day when I decided to buy a journal in which to write. When this lovely older gentleman shopkeeper asked if he could help me; I said, "I am looking for a journal that will fit into my fanny pack." :scared1:
Seriously, he stopped breathing for a bit! We got it worked out and I bought a journal. I also knew that I had said something wrong, but didn't know how wrong until a week later when I was able to ask friends in Perth about it. Was I ever embarrassed! Now that I am better informed, I carry a bum bag and "cheer, cheer, cheer" for the home-team :p

I rode Gringott's with my waist pack numerous times over the weekend. I did get scolded going in one time by a not so nice witch when I had not yet converted it into a waistpack. Wouldn't let me by until I did. My waistpack has a should strap and waist strap so I can wear it either way. I usually pull the waist straps out in line, but she was having none of it.

If you do have to use the lockers for your belongings during the ride...is there a fee? Is it really inconvenient?

The rides that require you stow your loose belonging have free lockers you can use for the duration of the wait in line plus a bit of cushion. If you go over that time, you either need to pay to retrieve your belongings or request assistance from a locker attendant. On rides the Water Rides at IOA where you may like to stow things but it's not required the lockers start charging immediately.

No fee. Very convenient - unless the locker decides it doesn't recognize your fingerprint and you have to have a TM open it for you.

Also, word to the wise, we had a hard time fitting our wand box in the lockers at Gringotts. They need to be about an inch longer. But it fit easily without the box.

I've heard that before about the wand boxes. Just like Disney, if you're staying onsite you have your purchase sent to your resort. If you're staying offsite you can have purchase sent to package pickup at the entrance to the park. You should be able to take the wand out of the box and get rid of the packaging for the rest of the day.

We just got back..They let me on everything with mine EXCEPT ..Hulk, Rip ride rocket and Dragon Challenge. They stopped me on both Forbidden Journey and Gringotts and I had to show them the clasp ( it has to be a 3 prong clasp) .They were turning away people with packs with no 3 prong clip, travel belts/running belts with no closures or 3 prng clasps

I wonder about zipped pockets on the Harry Potter rides. I'm not comfortable leaving my id and credit card in a locker.
