Like have two sets of FPs for the day if you have a regular ticket and a party ticket?

I should have been more clear; I did that in a non-MK park with the regular ticket and MK with the party ticket on the same day.

How about this question instead. With just a party ticket, can you still book FPs in MK before the party?

What you describe was never possible.

It was possible if the party ticket and your park ticket are on separate profiles.

I’m not sure if this still works. It did for MNSSHP 2017. My 2018 MNSSHP tix are not until October.

It was possible in 2017 with some very strange cancellations by Disney here and there, but since no one with a party ticket is within their 60 days, no way of knowing how it's going to go this year. However, with 6:00 being the closing time for the park to day guests, all FP+ will have to be scheduled before that 6:00 cut off, so if they do still allow it, you may not have time for three.

It was actually hit or miss last year. Some people were able to book FP's with just a party ticket and some were not last year. I was one of the people who was unable to book FP's with just a party ticket. When I went in to MDE it told me I couldn't book for those times because I didn't have the proper tickets to get FP's.

That is an interesting comment to me. I only had a party ticket I had purchased 2 weeks before and wasn't able to book FP's. From your quote it sounds like you weren't supposed to book FP's with just a party ticket last year but at 60 days out the system allowed you to. And like with other things in the Disney IT system if you got caught they deleted them. IMO this explains why they got cancelled "here and there" and I was not able to book any at all because the system caught up to me. We will see when it happens this year if it is possible.

The best way to get and keep party FPs last year was to do all your regular ticket FPs first, then go back and do your party ticket, and then not change anything. It was when people started messing with days that it messed with the party FPs.

We ended up going to WDW a day early so we added a day to our tickets and it would not let us do same day FPs unless we canceled the party FPs. I even went to guest services and they confirmed that the party FPs were blocking my ability to make any for that additional day.

Did guest services tell you why the party FP's were preventing you from booking other FP's?

Things like this may be more difficult since to use a FP+ the person to which it is assigned must have entered the park (and of course have a ticket), plus you cannot re-assign FP+ via the app anymore (still possible on a computer for now).

We are attending MNSSHP this year for the first time. Our party is on our last day and we aren't planning on visiting the parks before the party begins. We will have used the last day of our tickets the previous day. Will we be able to book FPs with our party ticket? Was the canceling of FPs done because people were booking double FPs?

There’s no way to book double FPs using one MDX Profile.

The FP system was only recognizing regular ticket entitlements and not the party ticket entitlement even when only the party ticket was being used on a Party day for FPs. The FP system would send out the Warning if a person had more days of FPs booked versus the total number of regular ticket entitlements. The system would then cancel out the last day of booked FPs.

And for what it's worth, if you put the party ticket on a phantom, and only booked FPs on the party day using that phantom+party ticket, the FPs were not cancelled. That is my preferred method... when you buy the party tickets, assign them to a phantom profile -- and be sure to have the tickets mailed so you get a RFID card. At 60 days out (if on site), umbrella them FP access for the party day. The FPs should not disappear (they didn't last year). Of course, when entering the party, you should (need to) use the RFID card for entry. And with the recent "FP lockdown", this is more important that even if you are already in MK, you should exit and re-enter using your RFID card with party ticket.

But for the past two years of Parties, the umbrella didn’t work and those booking using the Party tickets on a secondary Profile could only book 30 days out.
