If you own DVC can you stay, say in Hawaii at a hotel there? Or anywhere else that is not disney for that matter?

Thank you,
Jan

There are over 500 trades outside of Disney properties. A number of them are in Hawii. I just wish they had more in Europe. You can trade for condo type facilities through II. But they also have a concierge collection that allows you to trade for 5 star type hotels.

yes you can

right now at HH and VB - they are also DVC resorts.

soon there will be one in Hawaii and Ca (at DL)

you can also trade 160 points (1-bedroom) to II and go to these places

just don't expect to go over a holiday week.

you might be able to go over a holiday week at a DVC resort even one you don't own at.

there is also the concierge collection - ex
Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa,The Fairmont San Francisco-San Francisco, CA

the adventure collection, on Disney cruises,

the resorts in DL Paris, Hong Kong, Tokyo

but the best use of points is in a DVC resorts.

Keep in mind though. If you are not going to be primarily going to DVC (not even just Disney) resorts, then DVC is likely not your best plan. Trading DVC points through other timeshares is almost never a good use of points vs. using them at DVC. That said, it is an option and we have done it twice, three times if I include a Disney cruise.

Oh thanks so much guys! I'm just trying to point out all the possible benefits to offer my husband when I sit down to discuss this with him. The more positives the better to convince him with, lol.

Is there any place that shows how many points a particular hotel (outside of disney) would take during each season?

Thanks,
Jan
