Can you sell your points back to Disney?

I have tried calling and emailing but have not gotten an answer back - is it possible to just sell your contract back to Disney? I read on a timeshare web site that this was not possible, but wanted to make sure it was true and I can't find it anywhere on the DVC site.

We have finally made the difficult decision to sell our DVC and I want to make sure we understand all of our options.

My understanding is that Disney will buy back points. However, it is below resale market value...in the $50 to $55 per point range. Personally, I'd go with a resale broker, like Timeshare Store.

My understanding is that it is possible to sell your points back to Disney, if they are willing, but the amount you will get for them is far less than what you could get through resale.

If I remember from the few posts I've seen on this subject I think you are looking to get only about 60% of the current point value back from Disney. You could probably get upwards of 75-90% (depending on resort, UY, point balance, etc) going the resale route.

Someone did some research on this a few weeks ago. The other thing is that Disney only buys back points it wants. (Seems like she was trying to sell HH and they didn't want them!)
