Can you see whose MB made a charge?

Ok so we are DVC members and our next trip (over a year away) we will be having friends with us in the room (on the reservation). We know you can only put one credit card on per reservation.

The question is tho can we see whose MB or what person made the charge when we get an print out of the bill. We were thinking of letting the friends just the MB charging system and just pay us?? (We know we can trust them)

Thank you for any and all help.

Mods~ If this is in the wrong place please move.

Yes, the name of the 'owner' of each magic band, that made a charge is listed on the printout.

Just so you know, this policy changed a while back. While you still cannot put but one CC on the initial reservation, the front desks at the resorts can accept multiple CCs and split it among MBs any way you want them to now, provided everybody impacted is standing there and in agreement on the distribution.

You just have to change/adjust it at the front desk.

You are no longer limited to one CC/room. Haven't been for well over a year now.

Correct (of course). And then you can still do it "by hand" yourself, of course. We used to do it that way, but since Disney changed the policy, we now require our guests to finance their own habits. That may sound harsh and while we don't mean it to, we were burned a couple of times carrying guests who just assumed we were paying for things on the card (though we made it abundantly clear up front that we expected to be reimbursed).

Oh really?? So does this mean that the husband and wife could technically have their charges put on their CC and we can have our on our CC?? Would you do this at the beginning/end of trip? Thank you for the info!

Yes. That's exactly what it means. We've already done it multiple times on multiple trips. You and your OWN wife can use separate cards if you want to. As I understand it, once you've done it, you relinquish your responsibility to "make the purchases good" just because the reservation is in "your" name (which used to be the case for ANY room charges). They accept the CC and put your guests MBs tied to it and it's on the resort immediately (just like yours is). Yes. I asked that question specifically and in private before I ever did it the first time. I just didn't want to get burned in the end.

You can do it (and should) when you check in or as soon as your guests arrive. That way, nothing of theirs ever gets on your card. Period.

Thank you so much for this information! We have only ever gone with my sister and she just didn't bother charging anything (unless our child was with her and she was buying her food or drink).Thank you for explaining.

While it is true that you can put different CC's on one room, we had a Grand Villa last year with 8 adults all having different CC's and had several problems. Charges were coming to our main CC that weren't ours. It took 2 months after our visit before things got worked out. My point is that there seems to be a limit to the system. I'm sure you'd be fine with just two separate CC's.

We don't wait until the end of our vacation to settle up, every couple of days we would get our room charges from the front desk and pay as we go. That way any errors can be caught early.

I admit that we have never tried it with but two cards/families, but we have never had an issue doing that.

As long as you can vet the charges correct (we never have had problem with charges not ours appearing), an advantage to having more than one card against all MB's in a room is you can avoid reaching the dreaded charge not going through when you reach an account max of $1500 (which is easy to do in very short order with a large group and just a few Disney dinners (especially when not QS). The alternative is to get your statement printed every day or two and have them charge your card for purchases to date to reset the limit.

Wow its time for new friends...can I be your friend..lol:sunny:

We have been able to assign multiple credit cards to the room with no problem. This has been in the last year at multiple resorts. At checkin we simply ask to have a different CC assigned to different magic band. At one time, BLT, we had 3 different CC for a 2bd with 8 people. It worked like a charm- we got 3 different bills in the end.

This shouldn't be hard to do and any problems with it just highlight Disney's IT problems. Remember that "Magic Band" is really an alias for "My Disney Experience" so that anyone who owns an MDE account should be able to attach a credit card to that account. Doesn't matter that you are all staying in the same room. Each MDE should have that guest's stay information on it. I suspect that's what's happening when one goes to the resort front desk to "add a credit card to my magic band"; the CM is making sure that the guest's MDE account is active and has all of the correct information on it, creating temporary MDE accounts for those that don't have them.

I realize that some people like the ease of using MBs to pay for everything. I have never been the person who charges to the room. It just makes me nervous, thinking that I would lose the card or the band or whatever, and end up with charges that I didn't make. So, here's my question.....Is it possible to not have charging privileges to our bands? I will have tickets purchased, meal plan included, and gift cards for everything else....hopefully :)

Of course. Simply tell the front desk that you want no charge privs on any band. Easy. Having said that, you understand the band is no good for charging without the 4 digit PIN, right? Up to you. Easy to turn it off.
