The girl on the phone didn't really know the answer to this. Our cruise leaves the Contemporary at 9:15, fireworks are at 9:45 and she said we cruise for about 10 minutes after the fireworks. Soooo, the big question.....will we see the Electric Water Pageant?

Anybody ever done a fireworks cruise? We have booked one but are undecided because we really wanted an illuminations cruise. Reassure me that I will enjoy this too.

Yes, you get to see it up close and personal!
On our MK fireworks cruise the 9:15 fireworks was delayed to 9:30, so we got to see the EWP three times - middle of it at Poly, whole thing from GF and most of it in front of MK.
EWP is definately part of the cruise, so depending on when the actual fireworks go off, they will adjust.
We really enjoyed our MK fireworks cruise on May10th. It was a wonderful way to see if fireworks, without fighting the crowds. Very nice and relaxing. I highly recommend it. We also posted our extra room on Illuminations Cruise Central - and got to meet two other DIS families. We all had a great time!
PS - A tip: I went to the dollar store prior and got glow sticks for the kids. It kept them entertained during the cruise, and they loved playing with them in the dark!
You'll have a great time!
As well, they won't officially tell you, but you can bring your own freshments on board. It depends on your driver, and ours was great and said that would have been no problem!

Yzma & Kronk.....where did your cruise leave from? We had the option of Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, Polynesian or Grand Floridian. I didn't know what to choose so I picked contemporary. It will not be a park day for us, we will spend the day at CBR and Disney Quest. Did I make a good choice?

Thanks for the reassurance....the cruise sounds great!

About refreshments....they wanted me to add strawberries for $50 but I passed on that!

Sonya -
Our cruise left at the Contemporary.
It was a little weird because we were there early and no one was around. I finally found a lifeguard, and they said, don't worry your driver will be here at 8:30. We just waited by the boats - there are tables and chairs right where you dock.
If you want to bring anything, just bring along your own little cooler. They will officially tell you that you cannot bring anything because they want to sell you the expensive add-on's.
It was our DS 5th birthday and they wanted $100. extra for balloons and cake (ya, right!)
One of our party called prior about bringing something, and they said no. He then asked our driver if it would have been OK, and our driver said it wouldn't have been a problem.
(PS this message will self destruct in 30 seconds...........so as not to get anyone in trouble!!)
So, I would say if you want strawberries - just bring along your own......you can just say you've been carrying them around all day! :p
Any other questions, just let me know.
