Can you say 11 Character Meals? Plus V&A Chef Table! Star Wars too! Updated 7/23

Thank goodness I cancelled that Star Wars buffet, I had a feeling it wasn't going to be good on the food side. The characters are so cute and they are in the AC!!!

A sauvignon blanc with bison is incredible. The earthiness of the meat and the crispness of the grape is perfection. I'm not typically a white wine drinker but will always choose this combination. How wonderful!

And - how wonderful that you exposed a young lady to such an exquisite meal. What did she think of it?
Thanks. We love a good wine pairing any time!

She surprisingly loved it. She tried and ate everything and there was not one single thing she did not like. I was really proud of her for trying new things. She is normally a fast food kind of girl.

The food was pretty awful, but I might do it again just for the characters. They were the best of the entire trip. And yes, AC is wonderful in June.

Sigh...I hope I can get back to V&A's soon. I think I've been 5 times, 1 being at the chef's table, but my last visit was in 2007 on my 30th birthday (and shortly after getting engaged) so it's been awhile. If our 2017 trip winds up being to WDW, I may have to consider putting DS in the kid's club and going again!

Thank you for sharing your review, as well as the others. I agree with previous posters, you're a great aunt and uncle!
Thanks for the kind words. Lexi loved the Wilderness Lodge kids club so I say go for it!

Wow can't believe all the food today! While star wars stuff is generally lost on me, love the disney characters all dressed up like the star wars characters. And POTATOLAND!!!! That is my daughters favorite mickey short. Sorry the food for the day wasn't better though, but it looks like hubby was happy!
Yeah - could have done some better planning on food quantity, but it all worked out. Hubby was thrilled and is already talking about going back after the new movie release, etc. Sigh - the things we do to make them happy.

Potatoland, Goofy's Grandma, etc, etc all all ingrained permanently in my brain. That channel was on every day for 11 days until she fell asleep. There are only about 8 of them so we saw them all at least 30 times. She still chants POTATOLAND! It was very cool that Donald did the dance and chanted with her.

We had currently planned on Animal Kingdom this day but the girls loved Epcot so I cancelled my Yak and Yeti and went on the fly. Totally not my style. There was an Askerhaus 10:45 available and Lexi had been loving Belle, so we grabbed it. Yes, another character breakfast. This one is kind of a hybrid. There is a cold buffet and then a family style standard breakfast platter.

We didn't find anything special about the platter. Pretty standard. The bacon could have been more crispy, but the cheesy potatoes were good. Typical to us we needed more bacon and sausage. The cold buffet was OK. Nothing great. It did have smoked salmon if you like that, but none of us are big on fish in the morning. Sierra loved the all you can eat krispy kreme donut holes. Lexi was disappointed there was no watermelon, but the constant stream of princesses kept her occupied.

The princesses were much better here than at CRT. They also do a princess parade. We were there long enough to do it twice. By now Lexi was the queen of parades but was a bit shy because she really wanted to walk with Ariel. After some encouraging the second time she went right over and lead with Ariel. Good girl!
This was much more laid back than the castle. The food was better and the princess time was better. If you don't care about eating in the castle then this is the way to go. If you don't care about princesses, well then I would probably skip it. The quality of food did not equal the price.

We spent the rest of the day exploring the World Showcase. It was HOT. The rest of the week had been manageable, but the last 2 days were full direct sun all day. Lexi also love the kidcot stations and I was stocked with the kids go coloring packs so we decided to take it easy. Cava de Tequila is pretty much a must do for us every trip. Its cozy and the margaritas are good. This coming from a south TX girl. Most of their signature drinks are too sweet or gimmicky but if you order your tequila of choice in a margarita on the rocks they are darn tasty! They have a pretty extensive tequila list as well. I can't remember which I ordered but it was probably a respado. Hubby ordered another jalapeno margarita. You think he would have learned his lesson from Flying Fish. This on was better, but I don't think you should drink jalapenos as a rule. The place is tiny and often busy, but worth a stop. Especially for the cushy chairs and AC.

We wondered more around, stopped in Norway for caramel. Sierra had some giant cookie and loved it. You can kind of see it in the pictures. Lexi insisted on the caramel apple. She ate none of it. Lesson learned. We also stopped in Japan and did the pick a pearl. Sierra got a large nice white pearl. Lexi and I picked one and it had twin large blue pearls. Everyone was very excited. Lots of gongs! We had hers set as a necklace and I am wearing the earrings now. Lots of fun. More kidcot stuff too. By now we were hungry and it was late afternoon. Plus it was so Hot! Time to find a place to hide. We love Tutto Gusto so off we went for a dark cool spot to grab a small bite and a glass of wine. Lexi and Sierra both had the kids cheese pizza. I tasted a bite and it was pretty good. Nothing great, but its a kids cheese pizza in a theme park. It was as good as you can hope for.

Hubby wasn't crazy hungry because again he ate all of his late breakfast but agreed to help me. I ordered what I had last time which was a small sandwich with fresh mozzarella and tomato. It also came with a caesar salad. Everything is very fresh and delicious. It was well seasoned and had a drizzle of olive oil, but I think it could use a bit of zip from a pesto or balasmic reduction and it would be amazing! As it is, I still loved it. We both had a wine flight, but no pics and I could not tell you what it was if I tried. I am pretty sure I had a white flight simply because it was so darn hot. This place is rarely crowded, cold and great food. Stop in if you have a chance.

Excellent luck on the pearls!! I wanted to do it, on our last visit, but I got sidetracked for some reason. LOL. Just throwing it out there, if you want to adopt me, as a niece, for your next trip, I would not complain. You do Disney right!:earsboy:

The food at Tutto Gusto looks fresh and cool ... perfect for a hot day!

Agreed! I would gladly fill in as the other niece! LOL

I'm in complete agreement with you on Akershus, the food is just not very good. We tried it once and I don't think we'll ever be back.

On the other end of the spectrum, those margaritas looks wonderful!!!!!! Love La Cava.

And good to know Tutto Gusto is rarely crowded. Its been years since we've been in there and I'd love to pop in for some food and wine.
