I'll be staying in SSR next summer on my first "trip home"!!! We will also (hopefully) be at VBR and BWV. I was wondering, while I'm staying in SSR...can I request to look at rooms from other DVC resorts? For instance, if I call ahead to OKW or VWL, will they allow me to briefly look at their accomodations?

I know the room layout is pretty much the same except for the decor, but I still would like to see the rooms before I make a decision on staying in them. (So far, all I've seen is the showrooms on the SSR DVC tour.)

It depends upon if a resort has anything vacant at the time, given the occupancy levels of DVC (SSR being the exception because because new rooms are still being added) they may not have a room available to show you.

BWV has a preview room/open house room available most of the time. I think it is a 2 bedroom lockoff. It may or may not be available in the future, and as far as I know it is the only DVC resort (other than SSR) with a dedicated "show room."

We stayed at WL earlier this month. One afternoon when the kids were resting I went down to the front desk and asked if it was possible to see one of the villas. A front desk CM took me over and showed me a dedicated two bedroom. She had to check to make sure there was an empty room before doing it so I don't think its always possible. Since she wasn't associated with DVC she couldn't answer any DVC specific questions but she was very nice about showing me the room and gave me a few interesting facts about the lodge that I hadn't heard before.

I have had requests to view rooms honored at both DVC & resort hotels (wanted to see concierge level before deciding to spend $$$).

Absolutely no problem as long as there is a room available.

Oh, yeah. We do it, if we are interested in a particular room.
