Hi we will be arriving at WDW in 10 days. Whoo Hoo.:cool1: Staying first in a
Ded Studio Sav View Jambo (What is a dedicated studio?) Would you request a certain room? If so which? Next it's off to the BCV also a studio. Same question. Thanks, I'm so excited! :cool1:

You can "request" anything.

However, they aren't going to throw folks out for you and requesting a room really doesn't give the assignment folks a clue what you wanted. So when the "room" is full they just stick you anyplace. I would suggest requesting something a little more general like a certain area so they know what's important to you.

And always remember it's a request.

Carol is right, and requesting this close to your travel time is a waste of time. Most of us make our requests at the time we book 7 or 11 months out. We aren't allowed to call the resort to make requests, so you are probably too late. Also, there are very few dedicated value studios at AKV, so that will be a bit limiting as well. Values are very small and will have either a savanna, pool or parking lot view. They are not the size of other DVC studios.

Actually I have stopped making requests. My only request before was non smoking.

I have done a survey. All the rooms are at the resorts I expect to be staying at. LOL! I have had rooms all over most resorts (never stayed at VWL and only once at VAK) Even the ones that on here get trashed were actually very good. For example, I got the dreaded "road" view at BCV. Of course the upside was that you could sit on your balcony look directly ahead and see illuminations and look off to the side and see Wishes. It was pretty cool!

I don't think it is too late to call MS and add a request to the reservation. IIRC, the reservations do not get downloaded to the resort until 3 or 4 days prior, and the OP has 10 days before departure.

It seems that most of the resorts are assigning rooms on a "Room Ready" basis. That means it really doesn't matter when MS added the request to a reservation.

IMHO, it doesn't hurt to add a request even if the rooms are assigned in advance. Doesn't hurt to let the room assigner know what you would prefer. I agree that requests shoudl be general, rather than room number specific.

OP: Dedicated means there is no internal door connecting the studio to a 1 bedroom unit. (Studios that have the internal door can be combined with the adoining and connecting 1 bedroom to be rented as a 2 bedroom unit).

I agree, you can request anything you qualify for, but the chances of you getting are probably not very good. We never get any of our request. We use to a couple of years ago, but the past 2 years we seem to get the opposite of what we asked for. Just last week we request ground floor (the only request we made). We were on the 3rd floor. In May we requested to be "near" our daughter and grandchildren. We were near Atlantic dance and she was near the door near the tennis court, about as far away as one could get. I think they find humor in not honoring request.

Thanks for your explanation. :) I don't think i'll put in a request we paid for savanna view so I guess I'll just hope we get that. LOL I was just asking to see if there was a section you guys favored over the next. Whatever the room I'm just going to be happy to be in the world.

I requested a savana view studio. Isn't this different then a value? Is this studio smaller too? Thanks for your reply

If you requested and "paid" for a savannah view studio, you will not get a value sized room! My DS had a dedicated savannah view studio, he was on the Uzima (sp?) savannah, and it was wonderful!
