Can you rent a golf cart if staying at another resort?

In 2018 we stayed offsite and rented a golf cart over Christmas to see the decorations/lights at Fort Wilderness. We tried to do that again in 2021, but they had changed the policy and only allowed Fort Wilderness guests to rent them. At the time they said it was due to covid. Does anyone know if that has changed or do you still need to be a guest staying there? We are going again over Christmas this year and would love to rent a golf cart if we’re able to.

Around RONA time they changed it so that the golf carts were only available to guests staying in the campground.
I used to rent a cart for the day also when we had friends come to visit. Get there early, pick up the cart and then head over to the marina and do some resort hopping. Get back and have dinner at Trail's End Buffet (That's gone now too) then go looping afterwards. Loads of fun! No more though.

When i called to reserve my GC for October, the on hold message stated you must have a
Campsite reservation to reserve a GC

It just depends on when you rent. We picked one up on a Wed last time were there and kept it a few days.. just a spur of the moment rental.. we did not reserve it.
