Can you recommend a travel agent to transfer our onboard booking reservation to?

I've had problems transferring the placeholder cruises to Costco. They once told me that they can't transfer a res with no date attached. I've read on here, however, that others have had no issues. To be safe, when I rebook onboard, I always pick a random date just so the Costco transfer is clear cut.

I would give Costco a call and see what they say. Its possible that they've done so many of these placeholder ressies by now, they have a system for it. If they can't do it, I think I would change my placeholder to some random date as far out as possible that has a low fare (and hence low deposit). Then transfer that over to Costco. Then when you know which cruise you really want, just give Costco a call, and they will handle changing the date for you. Hope that makes sense. Good luck! That Costco cash card is unbeatable!!

Thanks. I will call Costco tomorrow and find out. If they can't take the transfer, I'll do what you recommend.

Another Costco question:
If I book online directly with Disney (not an OBB) can I then transfer the reservation to Costco?
(Disney takes Amex. Costco no longer does).

I believe so, but it must be done within 30 days. Just contact the Costco TA for the form to fill out.

Costco Travel DOES accept Amex, even though the store does not. Your lucky day!

What do travel agents do? I have one but hate to bug her if it is something I should do and not her.

They handle making the reservation, and any monetary procedures (payments).

Any thing that doesn't involve the actual reservation (booking, changing categories, room issues) or money, you can do yourself. That would be online checkin, booking excursions, for example.

I was looking at the Costco travel site and it kind of appears that if you xfer your OBB to them you may not get the Costco Cash Card. Has anyone who xfered the OBB to Costco actually received the cash card? Thanks.

Yes - its said that for years. I've received the cash card every time!

Just got back from our first Disney Cruise.

If I understand correctly, when transferring a onboard reservation, TA's will offer smaller on board credits than regular Disney cruise reservations. (since TA's get smaller commissions)

If transferring to Costco, does Costco give the full value of the cash-back (just as if booking a new/regular Disney cruise)?

+1 on Tracey from Dreams Unlimited. Not only did she keep in touch throughout the process, the basket of goodies DU ships to you at home before any cruise leaving PC was a great "pre-cruise" surprise for our little one.

From what I've read, yes. Costco gives the same size cash card, regardless if the reservation is a transferred one. Of course, that could change.

I booked a placeholder onboard. I have to transfer a reservation within the next few days. I'm thinking about transferring it to Costco. Can anyone explain to me how this works? Also, how do I Then book the cruise? Do I call Cosco back in the remind them that I have a pre-existing placeholder? Also I would be able to choose my room? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

I just transferred mine over a few days ago..
-Was assured we would get a cash card for any and all DCL cruises transfered to Costco with 30 days of booking.
- if transferred to Costco with in that time you will get your disney OBB and the Costco cash card.
- Costco can now handle placeholders as well! (Didn't have one, but agent suggested I get one on the next cruise)
- TA said the wording on the site could be better..
- they email you a form, you fill it out send it back.. And on a few days it's transferred..
