We just got back from our cruise and booked a placeholder, so we have a little less than 30 days to transfer the reservation to a travel agent. Which one would you recommend to get the best deals? We used Costco for out first DCL cruise but not this most recent one. Should we go back to them, or are there others would offer a better deal?

I have Allison Thomas from Dreams Unlimited and she has been wonderful. Responds to emails with 20 minutes and if she is out she emails me with someones name in case I need anything. I just love her

Tracey Heinrichs from Dreams Unlimited has been fabulous for us. She always answers our questions and gets things done for us.

Here's her email address (you have to remove the spaces):

I use Lindsay Dickerson from Cupcake Castles Travel. She's pretty awesome and answers all of my questions.

Do you receive OBC for the TA as well when your transfer the OBB?

Whether or not you receive OBC from the TA depends on the TA and their policies. And be aware some may give a reduced OBC for transferred reservations and OBBs.

Enjoy your cruise!

Costco gives a cash card at the end. Usually for a lot more than what an On board credit is.

Check around and see. You will still get the OBB benefits.

Costco is great for the huge cash card!! Best benefit I've found.

Costco. The cash card you get is about 8 to 9 % of the cruise cost. Way better than any OBC you get from other travel agents.

I booked a placeholder onboard. I have to transfer a reservation within the next few days. I'm thinking about transferring it to Costco. Can anyone explain to me how this works? Also, how do I Then book the cruise? Do I call Cosco back in the remind them that I have a pre-existing placeholder? Also I would be able to choose my room? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

I've had problems transferring the placeholder cruises to Costco. They once told me that they can't transfer a res with no date attached. I've read on here, however, that others have had no issues. To be safe, when I rebook onboard, I always pick a random date just so the Costco transfer is clear cut.

I would give Costco a call and see what they say. Its possible that they've done so many of these placeholder ressies by now, they have a system for it. If they can't do it, I think I would change my placeholder to some random date as far out as possible that has a low fare (and hence low deposit). Then transfer that over to Costco. Then when you know which cruise you really want, just give Costco a call, and they will handle changing the date for you. Hope that makes sense. Good luck! That Costco cash card is unbeatable!!
