You guys have a lot of insight -- can anyone recommend a magazine for me to subscribe to? Thanks!

It depends on your style and what you are looking for! I like Simple Scrapbooks since I don't prefer the style of page that is busy looking, nor do I have a lot of time to plan layouts. I use Becky Higgins Sketches a lot to help (a book, not a mag that I know of). I like Papercrafts magazine as I make a lot of cards too. There's always lots of ideas, new elements, plus other project ideas too.

My favourite scrapbook magazine is Creating Keepsakes.

I knew you'd get as many different answers as people answering, lol. I subscribe to 4, Simple scrapbooks, Memory Makers, Paper Cuts and BH&G's Scrapbooks etc. The only one I really don't like is the one I don't subscribe to - Creating Keepsakes - because their layouts are too 'over the top' embellished for my taste. I guess, if I were you, I'd buy a copy of each one, over a couple months, until you can see which one's style you're 'drawn to'.

My favorite is Scrapbooks Etc. I also like simple scrapbooks. I do get Creative Keepsakes but I'm not renewing it.

I was thinking about this the other day when I was flipping through some old magazines. When I first started scrapbooking, I subscribed to Creating Keepsakes because it was simple, while Memory Makers was "over the top". Now it seems to be the other way around.

I still subscribe to Creating Keepsakes, but am seriously thinking about not renewing. I also take the BH&G Scrapbooks Etc. and think it is pretty good.

On a side note, I have every issue of Creating Keepsakes from the very first one and am thinking about getting rid of them. Sure would free up a lot of space.

I definitely agree with everyone that it just depends on your style! Definitely check them out at Michaels or your local Scrapbook store before you subscribe!

I get the Creative Memories Lasting Moments Magazine and love it-- but I have a lot of CM products, and it has great ideas for some of their older products. I think it is very boring for some who like the more ornate pages.

I got Memory Makers and thought it was too much for me. I love other people's albums that are so creative-- but find I like mine a lot better when I keep it simple!

Also-- you may want to look on Ebay for used magazines too. You can find them cheap and as long as you use media mail for shipping-- it won't cost nearly as much as buying them new!

good luck!

I get Scrapbooks Etc, which is my favorite, and also Memory Makers & Simple Scrapbooks (got the 2 as a package deal on Ebay for cheap).

I thumb through the Creating Keepsakes when I'm at the store but I know that I won't use most of the stuff in there so it's better that I don't add another magazine to my collection!

This is my first time posting in this forum :) Have you checked out the new one Scrapbook Answers? I highly recommend it. It comes with a CD in ever issue packed with Fonts, layout tips, new programs coming out including Font organizers and Photo Editing software..all sorts of stuff. It really stands out from the usual CK and SS. Both of those seemed to be all full of ads lately.

Just my 2 cents.

OMG THE ADS! Sometimes I think the magazines exist SOLely to push products anymore. Even the 14$ "books" are filled with ads. I'm going to take your advice and pick up a copy of the Answers just to check it out.

I forgot about that magazine. I got the first issue and just LOVED it. I loved all the free fonts and the How To CD. I'm hoping issue 2 is jsut as good.

My favorite is the Creative Memories Lasting Moments. There isn't any outside advertising and they sometimes include ideas for other things like cards and gift bags.

If you would like I would be glad to send you copies of all the magazines I subscribe to. You can see which one you like the best. They may not all be the most recent issue.

Also some magazines will send you a free trial issue. If you don't like it just write cancel on the bill.

I am so glad you mentioned Scrapbook Answers. I saw it on Best deal magazines but didn't know much about the magazine. It's $5.95 for a 1 year subscription and there is a 23% off code. Use code SPOOKY23 for 23% off. Code expires 10/31. The only thing is it's the non disc version. Do you think the magazine is good without the CD or is that the only way you would by it?

I love Creating Keepsake Magazine. It has some great ideas. I also like Simple Scrapbooks because the style is simple and clean. Now days I feel like I don't need to spend an hour on one page or a lot of money.

For those that are interested I saw the new answers at my walmart tooday I might have to pick up a copy and check it out.

I love Paper Cuts. I also subscribe to Photos, Memories & More by Creating Keepsakes. You get a set of cards every 3 weeks (Iopted for the quick delivery and get 3 packs at once for 18.80) They give you the binders for them. I love those.
I also just subscribed to one and I cant remember the name Memories and more or something like that but havent received an issue yet.

I have the NOv/Dec issue of scrapbooks etc. that I'd be willing to mail to someone if they wish to look it over and decide if they'd like it or not. Just email or pm with mailing address.
