Day 7--Sunday, December 4, 2005
This was the day that my plans changed three different times. I was supposed to meet up with some friends at the Yacht Club Galley for an early lunch, but wound up backing out of those plans because I was going to meet up with a colleague from back home and his family, but that ended up falling through as well. So, I met up with Goofy4Tink, and we headed over to the Magic Kingdom.
Getting into the Magic Kingdom was quite an ordeal this morning. They were doing more filming for the parade, so they only had one side of the train station open to admit the general public in to the park. It took us 20 minutes to get from the turnstiles through the train station, and into the park. It was ridiculous!
Once through the gates, we saw the stage set up, and Lone Star was performing a Christmas song as we walked by. I didnt stop to see them, though. I made a quick stop at the camera shop to print out some pictures for the guys at Jellyrolls, and met Goofy4Tink, who had went ahead to get fast passes for Space Mountain, in Tomorrowland.
We actually got quite a bit accomplished at the Magic Kingdom. We went on all three mountains, Buzz Lightyear, Its A Small World, and maybe one or two other things.
Then hunger struck, so we made our way out of the park, and took a boat to the Polynesian, where we were planning on having lunch at Kona. We road the boat with an adorable little girl dressed like Ariel.
Once at Kona, we had about a ten minute wait. I think if we had to wait much longer, we would have been gnawing on the railings on the second floor.
Goofy4Tink and I decided to share an order of sticky wings, a pulled pork sandwich, and a beef teriyaki salad. Everything was excellent. The sticky wings were a bit well done, but we were so hungry, we didnt care. They still tasted good. We also really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich, and asked the waitress for extra barbecue sauce, which was brought out warm and very tasty. The salad was great as well--very tasty, and the dressing was awesome, although some of the beef was a bit on the fatty side.
After lunch, Goofy4Tink and I went our separate ways. She went off to do the monorail loop and check out the holiday displays. I headed over to Epcot to catch a set by Epcot Vybe. Epcot Vybe did an Elvis Christmas song, and one of the guys put on glasses with sideburns. When I went to take his picture, we said, Wait a second, baby. Let me pose for you. And he posed for the picture, which was pretty funny.
After Epcot Vybe, I headed out of the park to head to Old Key West for Danny1649s meet. I got a bus pretty quickly, but the bus ride around Old Key West was long, and made me realize that I would hate staying there. I wish I had gotten off at the first stop and walked to the boat dock for the meet, rather than waiting for the Hospitality House, which was the last stop. The bus ride just took forever--I would guess it was close to 10 minutes to ride around the resort. I know I would hate having to deal with the buses there.
Danny1649s meet was a lot of fun. Danny and his wife Belinda provided us with snacks and had prizes. We just sat around and yapped for a while, and everyone had a great time.
After the meet, KarenNY was nice enough to drive me over to the Port Orleans French Quarter, where I would be staying for the final night of my trip. I was able to check in and get to my room in building four (my favorite building) right away. I had my luggage moved over from the Boardwalk that day, and it took an hour for them to bring me my luggage! I was extremely ticked off, as they told me it would take about 20 minutes. I had to call them three times, and at one point, they didnt even answer my call. It turns out that they had three people with my last name check in that day, and they werent sure which luggage was mine! So delivered the other two peoples luggage first, and then finally delivered mine.
I stopped at the food court to get a quick bite to eat. I got a meatball sub, which was served with chips. The sub was nasty. I couldnt even eat more than a couple of bites. It was the first time I ever had a bad meal at the Port Orleans French Quarter food court! I wound up throwing it out, and decided I would get something else later at Disney/MGM studios.
I then took a bus over to the studios. I had some last minute shopping to do from my sister in the gift shop at the Rock N Roller Coaster. I took rides on the Rock N Roller Coaster, and Tower of Terror, and did my shopping. I then left the studios, and started my walk to the Boardwalk to meet my friends at Jellyrolls.
I arrived at the Boardwalk around 7:30, so I browsed in the shops, and decided to sit on the Boardwalk, and enjoy the view for a while before going into the bar. While I was waiting, Scotty walked by, so I stopped him, and we chatted for a few minutes. I gave him a few pictures from my trip.
I went into the bar, and Twotoohappy was already there, sitting at a table in the front row. Scotty and Jason were starting the night off, and Pete and Tommy were the second pairing. Eventually, WebmasterKathy, Kaycee, and Camcolt came to join us at the bar as well. We made friends with three girls at a nearby table, as well.
Now, Im not going to go into all of the details of that evening. Some things arent able to be posted on a family friendly board, and other things will be omitted to protect the not so innocent. Ill just say there was a lot of singing, a lot of dancing, a lot of drinking (not by me, though), and a lot of requests. We decided that a lot of people belonged on Santas naughty list (not me though).
During Scotty and Jasons last set of the evening, I put a request on Scottys piano, telling him to play something he loves, and to make sure he came out so I could say goodbye when he was done playing. Scotty played, Youve Got A Friend In Me for me, one of the songs that he often dedicates to me when Im at the bar.
After Scotty finished playing, he was going to be leaving, so we stepped outside, and chatted for a bit before he left. I have to say that I am very blessed to know Scotty and his family--he is one of my favorite people.
At the end of the night, I walked WebmasterKathy, Kaycee, and our three new friends back to the Swan. We got our three new friends in a cab back to their resort, and Kathy and Kaycee went up to their rooms.
I walked back to the Boardwalk, where I planned on hopping in a cab back to the Port Orleans French Quarter. Twotohappy was waiting there for her ride, so I chatted with her for a while. We saw pianomen Pete, Jason, and Tommy leave, and they said goodbye to us.
I eventually hopped in a cab and crawled into bed at about 2:30 a.m., another long busy day at Walt Disney World.
