Can you re-heat already cooked lobster in the shell?

MIL just brought over 4 lobsters that she just picked up. They're already cooked, still in their shell.

I like lobster salad but prefer to eat it warm with melted butter.

Is there a way to heat them up without them becoming tough or gross?

And what should I make with them?

We are in NE CT too. Did she get them at Market Basket? They have been $3.99/pound there for the last couple of weeks and we definitely took advantage of the sale!

If it were me I would remove the meat from the lobster from the shell, wrap it in a wet paper towel and microwave it 15 seconds at a time until it is warm. I've done it that way before and it always comes out fine.

I bring water to a simmer and remove from the heat. Put the lobster still in the shell into the water for 5 to 10 min's. Size of lobster makes the time in the water count. has always worked for me.

OP here.

No, the closet Market Basket for us is the one in Oxford MA, which is about a 30 minute drive from here. So we don't go all that often. But we have this little specialty market that sells fresh produce, salad bar, breads, baked goods, cheese shop & specials like lobster & stuff.

What I ended up doing was melting some butter in a pan & taking all the meat out of the shells and putting it in the butter. I let it warm up that way. MMMMMMM
