If we decide to NOT do the hoppers but want to enter the same park on the same day, how does that work?

Yes you can re-enter the same park for the same day.

No problem at all.

You just scan the ticket again, the computer recognizes that you were in that same park with that same ticket earlier in the day, put your fingers in the finger scanner so it knows its "still YOU" and off you go for more magic!

The finger-scan takes the place of the former "hand-stamp" that you used to need to remember to do when you exited a park... to allow a "hop" to another park or a return to the same park the same day.

Just wanted to add we were at WDW last week and decided not to do hoppers. (This was our first trip w/out them). We arrived at our "park of the day" at opening and stayed until the park got busy. We spent our afternoons swimming and returned to our "park of the day" in the evening. We never had any troule getting back in the park. We may never hop again!

I'm from Oklahoma too! This dreary weather will certainly get you in the mood for a trip to WDW.

Did you stay on the property? Did you use the WDW buses for transportation? How was the bus service to/from your resort midday? We want to leave midday and go back to our resort but we are concerned this will be a very slow and long process...

Bus service is about every 20 minutes to most resorts. . The difference you notice is that there are no "extra" buses that result in more frequent service during rush times. All Stars and Port Orleans switch to shared buses during the mid day through early evening.

Also, note that if you drive to Magic Kingdom the ferry back to the parking lot may also run on a 20 to 25 minute interval midday (just one boat). So I think the monorail is the better bet unless you see the ferry almost there as you exit the park.
