Can you purchase AP's at the Disney Store in MCO?

DH and I didn't renew our AP's when they expired in March because our trip this year isn't until July and we're also planning a summer 2006 trip with my parents. I understand that AP's are now activated from the moment of purchase. Is that correct? If so, DH and I want to wait as close to our trip as possible to purchase. I was wondering if we could get them in the airport?

Any ideas?

We bought our AP's at the Disney Store in MCO during our May 2000 trip. I don't know if things have changed but it was a really nice way to start our vacation. No lines and we were in and out pretty quick and could head right for the parks.

Same with us, we bought at the DisneyStore MCO for our 2003 trip. Not sure if all APs are active at the time of purchase (I seem to be reading about people still receiving vouchers), but the APs sold at MCO were active when we bought them.

Can you also get a DDE card there as well when you buy the AP?

leighe - remember, you have up to 30 days to get the renewal rate on the passes. I don't know if thats something they can do over the phone, but it might be worth trying. ( I truly don't know if they can do it over the phone... hopefully someone else can chime in ), but it may be worth a shot.

For new AP purchases, they still have AP vouchers. If your worried, you can always ask when you call and order your ap.

Yes - but we don't want to renew because we're not going until July and then we're going again next summer with my parents and we'd like to be able to use them for both trips. I understand what you are saying though. We were considering PAPs this time so maybe if I buy those new I can get a voucher?

Easy rule to remember now that TDS no longer sells APs:

If you buy your AP/PAP anywhere in the state of Florida, it will be active when you get it. You will not get a voucher. This encompasses anywhere at WDW, at MCO, at the Belz Mall, at the Orlando Premium Outlets Mall, and at the Disney Info Center in Ocala.

If you buy your AP/PAP via online or by telephone, you will get a voucher that you need to exchange at any major park ticket booth or Guest Relations location at WDW for the actual ticket. The AP/PAP clock starts the day you do the exchange.
