Arrival night: Chef Mickey's dinner

Day 1: H&V Lunch (must because of the characters - even though I know that the food is not so great)

TRex dinner

Day 2: CP Breakfast

CRT Dinner

Day 3: Via Napoli dinner

Day 4: Ohana breakfast

BOG dinner

Last day: winging it no ADRs set

what do you think of these choices?

My thoughts... :)
  • Arrival night: Chef Mickey's dinner -- we're not big fans; are you staying at CR or BLT and want something right there, or are you open to other options? If not wanting a park option, I think there are many other resort ADRs that might be better.
  • Day 1: H&V Lunch -- sounds like you know what to expect!! :)
  • TRex dinner -- cute atmosphere, food just ok; plan for slow service
  • Day 2: CP Breakfast -- LOVE IT; we do this EVERY TRIP at least once
  • CRT Dinner -- Not our favorite food, but a meal in the castle is just cool - period. :)
  • Day 3: Via Napoli dinner -- LOVE IT; we do this almost every trip
  • Day 4: Ohana breakfast -- really like this; and it's a safe bet for food quality, unlike dinner here
  • BOG dinner -- Food is pretty good, atmosphere is great
  • Last day: winging it no ADRs set -- always nice to have some flexibility like this. We've sometimes added additional duplicate ADRs after finding we really like a place (e.g. Tiffins a couple of trips ago)

Great..thank you!!!!

As for Arrival night...my kids want to start off the trip at Chef Mickey's which is why we are going there!

It really depends on how much you want to eat. For my family, we generally don't do more than one sit down in a day especially if those meals are buffet/family style. If we do happen to book two ADRs in one day, we typically will do one for breakfast and one for dinner. Depending on the time of your H&V lunch, you may not be hungry for T-Rex. Of course, you could decide just to do apps or dessert there.

I think your choices are solid. I like some of them more than others, but they are all popular places. I'm not a huge fan of Chef Mickey's. It is ok. The last two times I've eaten there, I was a bit disappointed in both the food and character interaction. It wasn't bad....just not as good as I had previously experienced at that restaurant. We almost always do H&V because we have little kids that love the Disney Jr. characters. We typically do breakfast. We have found the food is better there at breakfast. It sounds like you know what you are getting into with it. T-Rex is fun; the food is decent but the atmosphere is fun. I love 'Ohana, Via Napoli, CP, and BOG. CRT is also really good but definitely overpriced.

Not sure when your trip is, but H&V lunch is changing to Minnie's Holiday Dine for lunch I believe in mid April. Just an FYI, since I figured you meant you were going for Disney Jr. as you have CM the day before.

Is it really? I am going in Aug. Should I change to breakfast then to see Disney Jr?

Looks good to me but just want to make sure you are an informed consumer. With the new park openening at mk just be aware that CP pre park opening no longer gets you magical empty park pictures on Main Street anymore. We are doing CP anyway because my kids like the characters especially with new diz jr show "my friends tigger and pooh" and breakfast is good. If you want to get into mk before rope drop you need a qs reservation for BOG for prior to park opening.

I enjoy their breakfast food better than their lunch. Try for hitting hs for rope drop get in a couple rides than a later breakfast and then schedule your fp+ after.

Yes, you will need to change to get those characters. Actually could be better, since you have a dinner that night you get more space between meals, and can just grab a snack in the afternoon if anyone is hungry before dinner. You could get late brft if you'd rather eat later, or try for PPO if that is helpful to your plans.

They have all you can eat bacon. Seeing jake or sophia is just a bonus. But seriously they have good omelettes to order and I found most of their breakfast foods quite tasty. And that was 6 months ago. Their lunch... well. I haven't been to lunch there in 4 years so it may be different but at the time it wasn't anything to write home about. I generally don't like lunch reservations though. It breaks up our day too much and my kids leave ready for a nap and not ready to GO.

My personal opinions:

Arrival night: Chef Mickey's dinner - It's not going to be the best meal of your trip, but starting off with the Fab 5 at a character meal is totally worth it.

Day 1: H&V Lunch (must because of the characters - even though I know that the food is not so great) - Somebody already mentioned switching to breakfast for Disney Jr. characters and IMO, the breakfast is better food than lunch/dinner.

TRex dinner - My son loves this place and we always have a good meal there.

Day 2: CP Breakfast - One of my favourite character breakfasts.

CRT Dinner - I've only done breakfast here, but if you have Princess lovers in your party, it's a must do.

Day 3: Via Napoli dinner - Had my worst dining experience in WDW at this restaurant and won't be going back. That being said, many people love it, so you may as well.

Day 4: Ohana breakfast - My very favourite character breakfast, well maybe a tie with Garden Grill, but it's right up there! I really enjoy family style vs. buffet, it's far more relaxing.

BOG dinner - I find BOG highly overrated. I've had dinner there twice, once was awful and the 2nd time was pretty decent. It's a beautiful restaurant though and definitely worth experiencing at least once.

I think your plans are excellent for keeping little ones entertained. You have a good variety of characters which, let's face it, are the reason we book these particular meals! We loved the Disney Jr. breakfast when DD was 4. They do alot of singing and dancing which wasn't our experience with the others we went to. T-Rex was not our favorite meal but it wasn't bad.
Via Napoli is one of our favorites.
BOG is a must for the experience. We went for lunch because the dinner menu wasn't really for us.
