Can you plant bulbs (tulips and/or daffodils) now?

Every year I plant my hyacinths and tulips from Easter after they die. They all come up the next year.....I have tulips out there right now :).

It really really depends where you live-the cold etc

In the South tulips dont do well-daffodils ok
If you have excessive rain the bulbs will rot

Bulbs do need about 16 weeks of 45 degrees to support flowers during the root growing phase.

My guess for Florida is that it is just too wet and bulbs probably would rot.

Tulips are highly susceptible to fungus diseases.

I wish my tulips would get some fungus and diseases  When we moved here they were everywhere and through the years I have dug them up but every year some still appear.

I guess they like you.;)

I planted a ton of bulbs for the spring and now I am like, OK that was not well planned out.:rotfl:

Then again I am developing a new bed and testing the waters. I got a ton of bulbs half price in the fall from WalMart. Not really the bulbs I want to keep.

I am probably going to cut them and dig them up and try and store them to plant in the backyard for fall. It is either going to work or not.:rolleyes1
