Ok-- need your honest opinion... we were hoping to go to WDW in November, but DH got this crazy idea to instead move up the trip and go March 4-9th of this year!

Can I do this?!? I am so type A-- can you even get Advance reservations at such a short notice??!?!!

thanks for your advice!

It most definitely can be done...we booked 2 weeks ago for a trip in 2 weeks! We are not doing many ADR 's but the 2 we are doing, we got for the times we wanted...good luck! let me know if you have any more questions! :mickeyjum

Our last two trips have been on 4 days notice and 6 days notice. We didn't make any ADRs for either trip, but it was a breeze to confirm room, tix, and travel. I rather like traveling at the last minute like that.

I would think that there would be good seating for many restaurants during the early March week you are going. Have a blast! YOu'll be eready to go back by November :wizard:

Yep you sure can!
We decided to go Saturday, booked and paid Saturday and made all of our ADRs today!
We got everything we wanted and at the times we wanted too!

Oh I forgot, our dates are March 11-18!

We just booked our 8 day trip on Friday nite and we our leaving Feb. 24 i booked a few resturants. We are ready to go! The kids our excited they don't have much time to wait I am also very type A But I guess I'm OK now don't know about the next week though. LOL

I'm in a similar situation! My sister called a few weeks ago to propose our trip next week! It is kind of crazy if you're a big planner, but doable!

Absolutely !!!!!!! I've planned trips to WDW in 1.5 hours before :rotfl2:

A couple of years ago we decided on Saturday to drive down on Sunday. Called got my ressies no problem.I didn't do and ADR's but it was late August and we walked in everywhere!!! It was our best trip ever. Have a blast!!!

First reserve a room, then make ADRs if you can, if you cant get the ressies you want, dont get the DDP. You **could*** deal w/ counter service for a few days cant you, just for Mickey? There'd be Pizza, burgers, dogs, chicken fingers, salads, and a bit of chicken and ribs available in a couple of the parks, and the sky's kinda the limit at EPCOT.

Besides, for some, WDW isnt really *about* the food. Go, and have a great time :cheer2:

WOW that's good! And I thought we were good... We planned one in 48 hours-at Easter time 3 years ago. Don't think our bosses liked it. Got a great rate at POR and even got a CRT! This trip we bought DVC.

we planned a trip in 10 days--didnt stay on site though

where my DH works he gets the first 2 weeks of July off (plant shutdown)
and eveyone was talking about where their were going so he calls me that nite (he was on 2nd shift) and asks if I wanted to go to WDW!!!!! yea like he had to ask twice!!

I waited up for him that nite and we got our train ressies (he suffered from fear of flying now he doenst want to take the train anymore!!takes to long!!!

10 days later we were off!! in laws thought we were nuts since DD was only 18 months DS was3 but we had such a great time

In 1994 we just got back from the cruise and DH said I should see if anythings open at any of the Disney hotels so we got a room at port orleans for a few nites!!!

The only problem you might have is getting room ressies. The time you're going is getting into spring break territory. But it's not exactly the peak of spring break season. If you're first option for a resort is sold out, keep trying with other resorts. You should be able to get something.

As for the logistics and planning, look around on here for info on that. You'll find it if you look around enough.

Have fun!

I've never been fortunate enough to give this a try, but you can believe I'd give it my best and go and have a good time! :goodvibes I'm jealous, because I'm not going until next January (unless someone suggests a quick weekend trip!). LOL :rotfl2:

thanks everyone!!!

My DH booked the flights last night and got great deals- $160 less per person than our November plans. We also booked POR and bought the tickets. Our park tickets were $160 cheaper than if we would have gone in November too... plus we are going to use the dining plan-- woo hoo!

I called and got ADRs this morning... we got everything we wanted except CRT (no surprise there) and we even got the times we needed! With only a 2.5 week advance, we got a Sunday night Chef Mickeys ADR, Crystal Palace for 8:05 am Tues. (couldn't believe that luck), LTT dinner Tues., Norway Breakfast 10 am on Wed and a Garden Grill dinner. We also reserved a POR carriage ride on Monday evening-- the whole night was open.

WE ARE SO EXCITED, this is for our daughters 2 and 4-- we are going to make it a surprise! Thanks for all you encouragement!!! I appreciate your help!

We always plan our WDW trips 1 month is advance, never a problem. Sometimes it has been 1 or 2 days! Those trips are the best. It's funny because when you plan your trips days in advance they don't have time to send you the docs, so they give them to you at check in.

It's great to go spur of the moment...have a wonderful time!

I was going to tell you before you replied that you will find better rates and airfares...but I's so glad you already found that out.

just wanted to add-- we saved the $160 on park tickets because my DS2 is only 2, but would have been 3 in November.. just didn't want to confuse anyone!

thanks again!

YUP!!!

I did it with 19 days!! :thumbsup2

DH said on Sunday... Lets go for a weekend (DS is going skiing with his uncle  )

So OF COURSE I picked up the phone and made arrangements, got on line and got plane tickets....

and now just counting down!!!!

..... now the hard part.... what to pack :confused3

Have you considered buying ap's since you will be going back in November? Maybe you could even get a discount on your room in March????? Just a thought. I am really cheap and hate to miss out on an opportunity to save $$$$$ :goodvibes

I booked our trip on 1/27 and we're leaving on 2/28. And I've still managed to obsessively research and plan everything and still have 2 weeks to go, lol.
