Can you pay tip with gift cards?

If I am on the dining plan, can I pay tip only with Disney gift cards? I’ve used gift cards before, but usually I had an out-of-pocket expense to pay besides the tip like an appetizer so it was just added to whole amount I owed. But, we will be on the deluxe Dp this time so it’s doubtful I’ll have any other out-of-pocket expense other than the tip.

We did the Deluxe plan this summer and we charged the tip back to the room and used our gift cards to pay off the balance there.
