Can you park a pop-up on the sand tent pad? We stayed at Fort Wilderness for the first time last week in the 1500 loop. As mentioned in other threads, the sites are a bit tight when you have a pop-up and a car. Unfortunately, I didn't notice if others were parking their small pop-ups on the sand tent pads. We didn't because we were afraid it would sink in the sand. Has anyone else tried? Thanks, Judy

Yes, you can. In the Partial sites it is almost necessary. Keep in mind though that there is only 1 RV allowed per site... so the pop-up can't be a spare bedroom behind your moho! (though it has been done!).

I just wanted to confirm that Shan-man's answer is correct. A pop-up camper will not sink on the sand pad. In the partial loops, most pop-up campers are set up on the sand pads. Not a problem.

The sand pad isn't sand it is coquina rockmix. That "sand pad" is like concrete. It will hold my 31,000# MH. and leave no tire marks and no stabilizer arm imprints even after a few days of rain. If you were to set up a tent on the pad you would need a hammer to drive in the stakes

I think another reason a lot of people dont park on the sand pad is because it sticks to your shoes an transfers to the camper, I guess thats why we carrry a broom and a small vac..
