Can you not show up at an ADR, and go somewhere else?

I should know this sorry, or be able to find it. My buddy is going to WDW for the first time ever tomorrow (2A, 2Kids) and just today asked some advice (not a close buddy). Anway they got some pretty good ADR's for the whole week, but sadly some are during Wishes etc-likely why they got them. Was wondering if they have any options-they are on the DP.

Can they walk up to C Palace for example at 5PM, if they get in can they skip the ADR at POLY for 8PM? Same with Japan instead of France at 8 so they don't miss Illuminations.

Or should they just call throughout the week to attempt changes?

Actually one night they have POLY Luau at 8PM and MK closes at 8PM. They are staying at CBR, will they even make it back to MK to get a bus-or should they just walk to TTC?

It is considered polite to cancel reservations you are not going to use. That said, there is no penalty for not appearing for a restaurant reservation if the restaurant in question does not require a credit card hold or prepayment.

This is relevant only at CRT, the dinner shows, Akershus, California Grill, and the Fantasmic or Candlelight Processional dinner packages.

You can't get a bus to a resort at TTC. If MK buses are no longer running, they'll have to go to another park or Downtown Disney to switch buses. Downtown Disney buses run until about midnight I think.

On this night, it seems the best solution for them would be to just take a cab from the Poly back to CBR. The bellman can call a cab for them.

Hoop dee Doo provides busses back to each of the resorts after the show. Does the Luau not do this? (My one and only Luau visit was in 1998 - even if I could remember how I got back to my room, it's probably changed since then.)
