Can you make dinner out of the Wishes Dessert Party?

We have only 1 day at WDW, so doing MK, starting with 8AM ADR at CP. We then plan on snacking our way through the day, maybe lunch at a quick place and staying until the park closes at 11PM. We think the Dessert party would be a great way to eat while we are already stopped to see the parade and fireworks. (I don't know of any other sit down places that are good for seeing the parade and Wishes, LMK of there is.)

So is it enough food and variety of food to make a meal out of it? My daughter loves fruit and I saw a pic of a platter of it, but the dessert trays look like they are all similar, and as much as we love chocolate, I don't want to only eat only chocolate.

We split a Caseys hotdog before the party, but mainly the Dessert party was our dinner. Not because I thought it would be a good substitute, but I thought it would be fun for me and my DS11 to have dessert for dinner one night.

I suppose you could justify it with the fruit and chocolate covered strawberries, but honestly, it's just a lot of sugar, so if you're looking for a "real" meal, it really doesn't fit the bill. But for our purposes, it was great. The desserts were so rich, that we couldn't even eat much of it.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think you can really see the parade from the dessert party location. I'm not 100% sure since we haven't done the party personally, but the reason why we skipped it last time was due to the fact that I remember people saying that there was no view of the parade.

I have seen the same as OhThe Pain. The dessert party area is not a good parade viewing area. You can see the parade a bit, but from a distance. I would not choose that area for a good parade view. I certainly would not expect to be able to sit at the tables in that area and watch the parade and get a good view of it.

Personally I would have an early light dinner with some protein. Even if it is a hot dog. But that's just me. There is just a lot of sugar at the dessert party.

You will not see the parade well at all. We could hear the music and see the larger floats but it is from a distance.

Good point, you can see the top of the parade, which for us wasn't a big deal since we saw it another night, but since you are only going to be there one day, you might want a view on Main street. How bout getting a CS somewhere and parking yourself on a curb on mainstreet for the parade and fireworks? It's cheaper, more of a meal, and better view (although annoying with everyone pushing and jockeying for space, just make friends with your neighbors and form a united front)

1. Dessert for dinner is fun, but a large late lunch is in order. Park closes at 11 - when are the fireworks? 10 pm? If so, then dessert won't start until 9. That's an awfully long time since breakfast. If fireworks are at 9, dessert starts at 8. I'd be looking for a massive lunch around 2-3 pm (we did this last trip; had late lunch at Biergarten with lots of meat & veggies so were primed for dessert-for-dinner at 8 pm).

2. If the parade is a must-do, the Dessert Party is a must-don't. You can only see the tops of a few of the floats, and it's quite a distance away. Unless there is a 2nd parade after the Fireworks; then you'd be OK to leave Tomorrowland Terrace right after the fireworks and find a parade spot.

The day we will be there MSEP is at 7 PM, Wishes at 8 PM, MSEP again at 9 PM, park closes at 11PM. The reservation available is for 720 PM, so eat, see what we can of the parade, watch fireworks, take our time getting out, find a spot anywhere to watch the second parade if we want to see more.

I see that the reservation is non-refundable so as nice as it is, I may just take our chances with a walk up. I would hate to commit ourselves and have to leave something else that we are really enjoying or not really want that much dessert at that time.

Is that the only restaurant to see Wishes really well?

The only one in the MK.
